근덕중 카누부, 인도 프레지던트컵에서 동메달 4개

인도 테리의 따뜻한 바람 위로, 강원의 이름이 다시 한 번 힘 있게 떠올랐습니다.

지난 11월 28일부터 29일까지 열린 2025 인도 프레지던트컵 국제 스프린트 카누대회에서

근덕중학교(교장 한연희) 카누부 소속 청소년 대표 선수들 — 권율, 김동민, 이재형 — 이

C-1 1000m, C-1 500m, C-2 500m, C-4 500m 총 4개 종목에서 동메달을 획득했습니다.

전국에서도 ‘최강’으로 불리는 강원 카누는 이번 경기를 통해

세계 무대에서도 그 실력이 통한다는 것을 증명했습니다.

이들의 패들 한 번, 한 번에는

수년간 이어진 훈련의 기록과

지역 교육공동체의 응원이 고스란히 담겨 있었습니다.

이번 대회는 단순한 출전이 아니라

‘다음 세계를 향한 성장’이라는 의미를 지닌 훈련이기도 했습니다.

근덕중 선수들은 그 자리에서 또 하나의 가능성을 깨우며

해외훈련의 목적까지 완벽하게 달성했습니다.

“이번 성과는 우리 지역이 함께 만든 결과입니다.

기쁨에 머물지 않고, 앞으로도 재능 있는 선수들을 발굴하고

세계 무대에서 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 지원을 이어가겠습니다.”

강원의 물길은 오늘도 조용히 흐르지만,

그 위를 가르는 청소년 선수들의 패들은

이미 세계를 향하고 있습니다..

At the 2025 India President Cup International Sprint Canoe Competition held on November 28–29,

youth national team athletes from Geundeok Middle School —

Kwon Yul, Kim Dong-min, and Lee Jae-hyung — delivered an impressive performance,

claiming four bronze medals in the C-1 1000m, C-1 500m, C-2 500m, and C-4 500m events.

Known as one of Korea’s strongest canoe teams,

Gangwon’s young paddlers proved that their skills hold strong even on the world stage.

Every stroke of their paddles carried

years of dedication, discipline,

and the unwavering support of their local education community.

This competition also served as an important overseas training opportunity,

and the athletes succeeded in achieving both meaningful results

and measurable growth.

Principal Han Yeon-hee shared,

“This accomplishment was made possible through the steady support of our community.

We will continue to discover promising young talents

and help them grow into athletes who can shine on the world stage.”

The waters of Gangwon may flow quietly,

but the paddles of these young canoeists

are already pointing toward the world.
