강원특별자치도교육청국제교육원, 특수교육대상학생을 위한 ‘2026년 버디 외국어 캠프’ 개최

강원특별자치도교육청국제교육원(원장 변미영)은 6월 19일(금) 본원에서 강릉교육지원청과 협력하여 강릉 관내 초·중·고 특수교육대상학생 30명을 대상으로 ‘2026년 버디 외국어 캠프’를 운영했다.

The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education International Education Institute (Director: Byeon Mi-young), in cooperation with the Gangneung Office of Education, hosted the “2026 Buddy Foreign Language Camp” on June 19 for 30 elementary, middle, and high school students with special educational needs from the Gangneung area.

이번 캠프는 특수교육대상학생들에게 외국어 문화 체험 기회를 제공하여 영어에 대한 흥미를 높이고 학습 동기를 유발하기 위해 마련되었다.

The camp was designed to provide students with special educational needs opportunities to experience foreign cultures, increase their interest in English, and enhance their motivation to learn.

국제교육원은 학생들의 특성과 수준을 고려해 소규모 그룹을 편성하고 원어민 교사를 배치하여 개별화된 맞춤형 외국어 체험 프로그램을 제공했다.

The International Education Institute organized students into small groups based on their individual characteristics and learning levels and assigned native English-speaking teachers to provide personalized language-learning experiences.

교육과정은 단순한 지식 축적에서 벗어나 신체 활동과 접목한 핸즈온(Hands-on) 활동 중심으로 구성되었다.

The curriculum focused on hands-on learning activities combined with physical engagement rather than simple knowledge acquisition.

특히 일상생활에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 ‘요리’, ‘색깔’, ‘옷’ 등을 핵심 주제로 선정하여 학생들이 실생활 영어 표현을 자연스럽게 익힐 수 있도록 하였다.

In particular, practical themes such as “Cooking,” “Colors,” and “Clothing” were selected so that students could naturally learn and use English expressions applicable to everyday life.

#변미영 원장은 “버디 외국어 캠프에 대해 강릉 지역 학생들이 많은 관심을 가져준 덕분에 계획했던 인원보다 더 많은 학생들을 대상으로 기쁘게 운영하게 되었다”라며, “원어민 보조교사들이 수업 지도안 작성부터 교구 준비까지 많은 노력을 기울인 만큼, 이번 캠프가 학생들이 외국어에 관심을 갖고 학교에 돌아가서도 적극적으로 학습에 참여하는 계기가 되기를 바란다”라고 밝혔다.

#Director Byeon Mi-young stated, “Thanks to the strong interest shown by students in the Gangneung area, we were delighted to expand participation beyond our original plan. Our native English assistant teachers worked hard on everything from lesson planning to preparing teaching materials. I hope this camp inspires students to develop a greater interest in foreign languages and encourages active participation in learning when they return to school.”
