“257 Vocational High School Students to Showcase Practical Skills and Explore Future Careers”

강원특별자치도교육청은 상업·정보 분야의 우수 인재를 발굴하고 미래 산업사회를 이끌 차세대 비즈니스 리더를 육성하기 위해 6월 11일(목)부터 12일(금)까지 이틀간 원주금융회계고등학교에서 ‘제16회 강원특별자치도 상업경진대회’를 개최한다.

The Gangwon State Office of Education will host the 16th Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Commercial Competition from June 11 to 12 at Wonju Finance & Accounting High School. The event aims to discover talented students in commerce and information technology and foster future business leaders who will drive the next generation of industry.

올해 대회에는 도내 13개 상업계고등학교를 대표하는 학생 257명이 참가해 회계, 창업, 금융, 비즈니스 프로그래밍 등 다양한 분야에서 실무 역량을 겨룬다.

This year, 257 students representing 13 vocational high schools specializing in commerce from across Gangwon Province will compete in practical skills areas such as accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, and business programming.

특히 산업 현장의 수요를 반영한 ‘경리실무’ 종목이 새롭게 신설되어 총 15개 종목(경진 12종목, 경연 3종목)으로 확대 운영된다.

In particular, a new “Bookkeeping Practice” category has been added to reflect current industry demands, bringing the total number of competition categories to 15, including 12 skill competitions and 3 presentation events.

대회는 11일 오전 11시 원주금융회계고등학교 향목관에서 열리는 개회식을 시작으로 본격적인 일정에 들어간다.

The competition will officially begin with an opening ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on June 11 in Hyangmok Hall at Wonju Finance & Accounting High School.

종목별 금상·은상·동상 수상자 등 우수 학생에게는 강원특별자치도 대표 자격으로 올가을 개최되는 전국상업경진대회에 출전할 기회가 주어진다.

Outstanding students, including gold, silver, and bronze medal winners in each category, will earn the opportunity to represent Gangwon Province at the National Commercial Competition scheduled for this fall.

특히 올해 대회는 단순한 기능 경쟁을 넘어 학생들이 진로를 탐색하고 미래를 설계하는 ‘체험형 직업 축제’로 운영된다.

This year’s event goes beyond a skills competition and will be operated as an experiential career festival where students can explore career pathways and plan for their futures.

대회 기간에는 영림원소프트랩, 강원일자리센터, 강원청소년센터 등 유관기관과 상지대학교, 한라대학교, 경동대학교 등 도내 대학이 참여하는 직업·진로 체험부스가 함께 운영된다.

Throughout the event, career and vocational experience booths will be operated by organizations such as Younglimwon Soft Lab, the Gangwon Job Center, and the Gangwon Youth Center, as well as regional universities including Sangji University, Halla University, and Kyungdong University.

참가 학생들은 인공지능(AI) 면접 체험, 직업 상담, 대학 전공 탐색 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 진로에 대한 이해를 넓힐 수 있다.

Students will be able to participate in various programs, including AI-powered mock interviews, career counseling, and university major exploration activities, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their future career options.

#김성래 중등교육과장은 “이번 대회가 학생들이 실무 역량을 키우는 것은 물론 자신의 진로와 꿈을 구체적으로 설계하는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “도내 상업계고 학생들이 서로 소통하고 성장하는 축제의 장이 될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Kim Seong-rae, Director of Secondary Education, stated, “We hope this competition will not only strengthen students’ practical competencies but also help them design their future careers and dreams more concretely. We will continue to support this event so that it becomes a meaningful festival of communication and growth for vocational high school students throughout Gangwon.”
