강원특별자치도교육청–강릉교육지원청–국립강릉원주대학교 이주배경학생 한국어교육 지원 업무협약 체결

강원특별자치도교육청은 1월 5일, 강릉교육지원청, 국립강릉원주대학교와 함께 이주배경학생의 한국어교육 내실화와 안정적인 공교육 진입 지원을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

이번 협약식은 국립강릉원주대학교에서 열렸으며, 강원특별자치도교육청 정책국장, 강릉교육지원청 교육장, 국립강릉원주대학교 한국어교육센터장 등 관계자 10여 명이 참석했다.

협약의 주요 목적은 이주배경학생을 대상으로 체계적인 한국어교육 지원 체계를 구축하고, 교육청·교육지원청·대학 간 사전 협력 구조를 마련해 교육 자원과 정보를 유기적으로 연계·활용하는 데 있다.

협약에 따라 세 기관은 ▲이주배경학생 대상 한국어교육 관련 정보 공유 ▲교육공간·인적자원·교육 프로그램 연계 지원 ▲이주배경학생의 안정적인 공교육 진입을 위한 공동 과제 발굴 ▲기타 협약 목적 달성을 위한 협력 사항에 대해 상호 협력하기로 했다.

특히 이번 협약을 통해 강릉 지역을 거점으로 한 한국어 예비과정이 운영될 예정으로, 이주배경학생의 언어 수준과 학습 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 한국어교육이 제공될 것으로 기대된다.

#김용묵 강원특별자치도교육청 정책국장은 “이번 협약은 교육청과 교육지원청, 대학이 협력해 이주배경학생의 한국어교육을 체계적으로 지원하는 의미 있는 사례”라며, “앞으로도 학교 현장과 학생의 교육적 요구를 바탕으로 이주배경학생이 공교육에 안정적으로 적응하고 성장할 수 있는 기반을 지속적으로 마련하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 5 with the Gangneung Office of Education and Gangneung–Wonju National University to strengthen Korean language education and support the stable integration of students from multicultural backgrounds into public education.

The signing ceremony was held at Gangneung–Wonju National University and attended by approximately ten officials, including the Director of Policy at the Gangwon Office of Education, the Superintendent of the Gangneung Office of Education, and the Head of the Korean Language Education Center at the university.

The agreement aims to establish a systematic Korean language education framework for multicultural students by creating a preemptive cooperation structure among the provincial office of education, the local education office, and the university, while effectively linking and utilizing educational resources and information.

Under the agreement, the three institutions agreed to cooperate in the areas of sharing information related to Korean language education, providing integrated support through educational spaces, human resources, and programs, identifying joint initiatives to ensure students’ stable entry into public education, and pursuing other cooperative measures aligned with the purpose of the MOU.

In particular, a Korean language preparatory program will be operated with Gangneung as a regional hub, providing customized Korean language education tailored to students’ language proficiency levels and learning characteristics.

Kim Yong-muk, Director of Policy at the Gangwon Office of Education, stated, “This agreement represents a meaningful example of cooperation among the provincial office of education, the local education office, and a national university to systematically support Korean language education for students from multicultural backgrounds.” He added, “We will continue to build a sustainable foundation that enables these students to adapt to and grow within public education based on the needs of schools and learners.”
