강원도의 한 도민으로서,

저는 조심스럽게 묻고 싶습니다.

지금의 교육감 선거는

과연 아이들을 위한 선거인가요.

교육은 정치의 하위 개념이 아닙니다.

그럼에도 현실의 교육감 선거는

여전히 보수와 진보라는 오래된 프레임 속에 머물러 있습니다.

누가 아이들의 기초학력을 어떻게 지켜낼 것인지,

작은 학교를 어떤 철학으로 유지할 것인지,

급변하는 세계 속에서

아이들에게 어떤 힘을 길러줄 것인지에 대한 질문은

늘 뒤로 밀려납니다.

지금 아이들에게 필요한 것은 분명합니다.

단기 성과를 위한 정책이 아니라,

최소 12년 동안 이어지는 외국어 교육의 일관된 구조,

졸업과 동시에 삶과 일에 사용할 수 있는 언어 능력,

그리고 디지털 환경을 이해하고 스스로 판단할 수 있는

기본 역량입니다.

이것은 이념의 문제가 아닙니다.

아이들이 살아갈 세상을 준비하는,

아주 현실적인 생존의 문제입니다.

또한 모든 아이가

출발선에 설 수 있도록

기초학력을 국가와 교육청이 책임지는 구조가 필요합니다.

작은 학교 역시

비용이 아니라 공동체의 관점에서

다시 바라보아야 합니다.

이제 교육감 후보에게 요구해야 합니다.

정치적 성향이 아니라 교육 철학을 말할 수 있는지,

구호가 아니라 실행 계획을 제시할 수 있는지,

진영 논리가 아니라

아이들의 실제 삶을 이야기할 수 있는지 말입니다.

강원의 교육은

실험의 대상이 아니라 책임의 영역입니다.

아이들의 미래를 위해

교육에만 전념하는 교육감,

지금이 바로 그 전환점이어야 합니다.

As a citizen of Gangwon Province,

I would like to ask—quietly, but sincerely.

Is today’s superintendent election

truly for the sake of our children?

Education is not a subset of politics.

Yet in reality, superintendent elections

remain trapped in old ideological frames—

conservative versus progressive.

Questions that truly matter are pushed aside:

How will we guarantee foundational learning for every child?

How will we protect small schools?

What kind of strength should children be given

to survive and grow in a rapidly changing global world?

What our children need is already clear.

Not short-term, performance-driven policies,

but a coherent foreign-language education system

that lasts at least twelve years;

language skills they can actually use

in life and work after graduation;

and digital literacy that allows them

to understand, judge, and act independently.

This is not an ideological debate.

It is a matter of survival—

of preparing children for the world they will live in.

We also need a structure

in which the state and education authorities

take responsibility for ensuring basic academic foundations

so that every child can stand at the same starting line.

Small schools, too, must be viewed

not through the lens of cost,

but through the lens of community.

Now is the time to demand more from superintendent candidates.

Not political alignment, but educational philosophy.

Not slogans, but concrete plans.

Not factional logic, but real concern

for children’s lives.

Education in Gangwon

is not an experiment.

It is a responsibility.

For the sake of our children’s future,

we need a superintendent devoted solely to education.

Now must be the moment of change.
