원주시-대만 리드텍, AI·디지털헬스케어 글로벌 협력 본격화

원주시는 지난 11월 17일, 대만의 글로벌 IT 기업이자 엔비디아(NVIDIA)의 공식 전략 파트너인 리드텍(Leadtek Research)의 주세위(周世偉) 컴퓨터사업부 최고책임자가 원주를 방문해 원강수 원주시장과 공식 접견을 가졌다고 밝혔다.

On November 17, Wonju City announced that Chou Shih-Wei, Head of the Computer Business Unit at Leadtek Research—Taiwan’s global IT company and an official strategic partner of NVIDIA—visited Wonju to meet with Mayor Won Kang-su.

이번 만남에서 원주시와 리드텍은 ▲리드텍코리아(가칭)의 원주 설립 추진, ▲AI‧디지털헬스케어 분야 공동 연구 및 R&D 협력, ▲GPU 기반 교육 커리큘럼 공동 개발 및 실습 인프라 구축 등 중장기 협력체계를 강화하기로 의견을 모았다.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen mid- to long-term cooperation, including ▲promoting the establishment of “Leadtek Korea” in Wonju, ▲joint research and R&D collaboration in AI and digital healthcare, and ▲co-development of GPU-based education curricula and training infrastructure.

리드텍은 엔비디아의 전략 파트너로서 GPU 공급, AI 시스템 구축, 헬스케어 솔루션 개발 분야에서 높은 전문성을 갖추고 있으며, 의료·헬스케어 산업에서 쌓아온 기술력과 교육 경험을 기반으로 글로벌 시장에서 신뢰를 받고 있다.

As a strategic partner of NVIDIA, Leadtek is recognized globally for its expertise in GPU supply, AI system development, and healthcare solution engineering, backed by extensive experience in medical and digital health technologies.

#원강수 원주시장은 “원주는 공공 의료데이터와 의료기기 산업 기반을 갖춘 대한민국 대표 디지털헬스케어 도시”라며 “리드텍과의 협력은 원주의 AI·헬스케어 산업에 큰 동력을 제공할 것”이라고 말했다.

Mayor Won stated, “Wonju is Korea’s leading digital healthcare city, equipped with public medical data and a strong medical device industry. Our collaboration with Leadtek will become a major driving force for the advancement of Wonju’s AI and healthcare sectors.”

한편 원주시는 앞으로도 리드텍과 후속 협의를 이어가며, 기업 유치, R&D 협력, 교육 인프라 구축 등 구체적 실행 전략을 단계적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.

Wonju City plans to continue follow-up consultations with Leadtek and will proceed step by step with concrete strategies related to corporate attraction, R&D cooperation, and establishment of educational infrastructure.
