미래교육은 디지털 역량에서 시작된다

강원특별자치도교육청교육연수원이 9월 5일부터 6일까지 평창 휘닉스 파크에서 개최한 ‘초·중등 인공지능(AI) 디지털 기반 수업혁신 직무연수(2기)’는 단순한 연수가 아니다. 이는 급변하는 교육 환경 속에서 교원들이 어떤 준비와 변화를 감당해야 하는지를 보여주는 시험대이자 선언에 가깝다.

인공지능과 디지털 기술은 이제 교실의 주변 요소가 아니라 학습의 핵심 도구로 자리 잡아가고 있다. 학생 개별 맞춤형 교육, 과정 중심 평가, 참여형 수업은 더 이상 구호가 아니라 현장에서 구현해야 할 실천 과제다. 이번 연수는 △2022 개정 교육과정과 디지털 혁신의 접점 △AI를 활용한 학생 참여형 수업 설계 △AI 기반 평가도구의 실제 활용 등으로 구성되며, 80명의 교사가 1박 2일 동안 집중적으로 몰입한다.

특히 지난 상반기 영동지역 교사를 대상으로 한 1기에 이어, 이번에는 영서지역 교원들이 참여해 ‘지역 간 교육격차를 줄이는 균형 연수 모델’이라는 상징성을 더했다. 민섭 원장이 강조했듯, 이는 단순히 교사의 역량 강화를 넘어 학생 성장과 교원 전문성 제고를 동시에 겨냥한 전략적 투자다.

강원 학생들이 미래사회에서 경쟁력을 갖추려면, 교실은 더 이상 과거의 패러다임에 머물러서는 안 된다. AI와 디지털 기반 교육혁신은 선택이 아니라 필수이며, 이번 연수는 그 변화를 선도하려는 강원의 실천적 움직임을 보여준다. 교육의 미래는 결국 교사의 준비된 역량에서 출발한다는 사실을 다시금 환기시키는 자리였다.

The “AI & Digital-Based Teaching Innovation Training Program (2nd term)”, held by the Kangwon Provincial Office of Education Training Institute at Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang from September 5 to 6, is more than just another professional development session. It is a declaration—and a test—of how educators must prepare themselves for the rapidly changing landscape of education.

Artificial intelligence and digital tools are no longer peripheral to classrooms; they are becoming central to how students learn. Personalized instruction, process-oriented assessment, and participatory lessons are not lofty slogans but urgent tasks for today’s schools. This training addresses △the intersection of the 2022 Revised Curriculum and digital innovation △designing AI-powered, student-centered lessons △and applying AI-based tools for formative assessment, with 80 teachers engaging intensively over two days.

Following the first session for Yeongdong teachers earlier this year, this second round targets educators in the Yeongseo region, symbolizing a commitment to reducing regional disparities in training opportunities. As Director Min Seob emphasized, the program is not only about enhancing teachers’ digital capacity but also about fostering student growth and strengthening professional expertise—a strategic investment in the future.

For Kangwon students to thrive in tomorrow’s society, classrooms can no longer remain bound by the paradigms of the past. AI-driven digital innovation is not optional; it is inevitable. This training reflects Kangwon’s determination to lead that transformation, reminding us that the future of education begins with the preparedness and vision of its teachers.
