미국이 등을 돌리기 전에, 한국은 역사적 책임을 다해야 한다

“우리를 도와준 나라가 있다면, 우리는 그 은혜를 잊지 말아야 합니다.”

“If there is a nation that has helped us, we must never forget its grace.”

그 말은 단지 도덕적 명제가 아니다. 지금 이 시점에서, 대한민국이 국제사회에서 설 자리를 지키고 미래를 준비하기 위한 냉철한 생존 전략이기도 하다.

This is not merely a moral statement. At this moment, it is a sober survival strategy for South Korea to secure its place in the international community and prepare for the future.

한미동맹은 선택이 아니라, 생존의 필수였다. 한국전쟁 당시 수많은 미국 청년들이 생명을 바쳐 이 땅을 지켰고, 이후 경제와 교육, 의료, 산업 전반에 걸친 막대한 원조는 대한민국을 전쟁 폐허에서 세계 10위권 경제대국으로 견인했다.

The ROK-U.S. alliance was not a choice, but a necessity for survival. During the Korean War, countless young Americans gave their lives to defend this land. Following the war, the U.S. provided massive aid across the economy, education, healthcare, and industry—helping lift South Korea from the ruins of war into a top 10 global economy.

오늘날 우리가 누리는 풍요와 자긍심은 결코 혼자 일군 것이 아니다.

The prosperity and pride we enjoy today were never achieved alone.

하지만 이 은혜에 대한 기억이 희미해진 결과는 처참하다.

However, the fading memory of that gratitude has led to grim consequences.

최근 수년간 한국 정치권과 일부 여론은 친중·친북 노선을 당연시했고, ‘자주’를 가장한 반미 정서는 점점 목소리를 키웠다. 역사의 균형추는 무너지고, 민심은 왜곡되었다.

In recent years, South Korea’s political circles and segments of public opinion have normalized pro-China and pro-North Korea stances. Anti-American sentiment, disguised as “sovereignty,” has grown louder. The balance of history has been lost, and public awareness distorted.

그 대가는 이미 시작되었다.

The price is already being paid.

트럼프 대통령은 방위비 분담금 압박과 통상 보복, 미군 철수 언급까지 서슴지 않는다. 감정의 문제가 아니라, 신뢰의 문제다.

President Trump does not hesitate to pressure Korea over defense cost-sharing, trade retaliation, or even U.S. troop withdrawal. This is not about emotions—it is about trust.

동맹으로서의 신뢰가 무너질 때, 우리가 직면하게 될 현실은 냉혹하다. 미국은 한국을 더 이상 ‘형제의 나라’가 아닌, ‘문제 많은 거래 파트너’로 바라볼 수도 있다.

When trust within the alliance breaks down, the reality we face will be harsh. The U.S. may come to view South Korea not as a “brotherly nation,” but as a “troublesome business partner.”

과거를 망각한 민족에게 미래는 없다.

A nation that forgets its past has no future.

지금의 한국 정치권은 말로는 안보를 외치면서도 실제로는 동맹의 기초를 갉아먹는 행태를 반복하고 있다.

Korea’s current political leadership may speak of security, yet their actions often undermine the foundation of our alliance.

미국이 등을 돌리는 날, 우리는 단지 외교적 고립만을 겪는 것이 아니라, 경제와 안보, 외교 모든 면에서 심각한 붕괴를 맞게 될 것이다.

The day the U.S. turns its back on us, we won’t just face diplomatic isolation—we will face collapse in every sector: economy, security, and foreign policy.

경고는 이미 시작됐다. 눈을 감는다면 그다음은 절망뿐이다.

The warnings have already begun. If we close our eyes now, despair will be the next chapter.

아직 늦지 않았다. 지금이라도 우리는 똑바로 봐야 한다.

It is not too late. We must face reality—right now.

정치권은 정신을 차리고, 국민은 역사적 사실 위에 균형감을 회복해야 한다.

Politicians must come to their senses, and the public must restore their balance based on historical truth.

미국은 여전히 한국을 ‘우선순위 동맹국’으로 존중할 준비가 되어 있다. 문제는 우리가 그에 합당한 자세를 갖추고 있는가이다.

The United States still stands ready to treat South Korea as a top-priority ally. The question is: Are we prepared to act in a manner worthy of that status?

한미동맹은 단지 외교적 선언이 아니다. 그것은 피로 맺어진 약속이며, 우리가 결코 저버려서는 안 될 시대적 사명이다.

The ROK-U.S. alliance is not just a diplomatic statement—it is a promise sealed in blood, a generational mission that must never be betrayed.

기억하자. 우리가 어디에서 시작했는지를. 그 기억 위에서만 비전은 만들어진다.

Let us remember where we began. Only from that memory can a real vision be built.

국민들은 비전을 실행하는 정부를 기대한다.

The people expect a government that will act on that vision.
