Yang Min-hyuk, a star player for Kangwon FC, visited Chuncheon to bid farewell to local fans before his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the year.
Having made his K League 1 debut as a high school student, Yang achieved remarkable success with 12 goals and 6 assists, leading his team to its first-ever runner-up finish. Along the way, he set numerous records and received accolades, including Young Player of the Month, Young Player of the Year, and a spot in the league's Best XI.
His exceptional performance also earned him a call-up to the national team. Starting next year, he will showcase his talents in the Premier League with Tottenham.
On December 5 (Thursday), Yang visited the Kangwon FC Youth Academy (U12 team) and Hupyeong Middle School (U15 team) in Chuncheon to encourage young soccer players and inspire them with dreams and hope.
He then visited the Gangwon Provincial Government Office to meet with the club owner, Governor Kim Jin-tae, and extended his heartfelt gratitude to Chuncheon residents through a farewell message.
Yang expressed, "The support from fans has been a tremendous source of strength. I sincerely thank the citizens of Chuncheon and Governor Kim Jin-tae for their enthusiastic support. I will work hard in England and kindly ask for your continued support."
Governor Kim Jin-tae responded, "I hope Yang Min-hyuk excels at Tottenham and never forgets Kangwon, his second hometown. I encourage all residents to continue supporting him with great interest."

올해를 끝으로 토트넘 홋스퍼로 이적하는 강원FC의 양민혁 선수가 출국을 앞두고 춘천을 찾아 홈 팬들에게 고별 인사를 전했다.
양민혁 선수는 고교생 신분으로 K리그1에 데뷔한 이후, 12골 6도움이라는 뛰어난 성적으로 팀을 사상 첫 준우승으로 이끌었다. 이 과정에서 최연소 이달의 선수, 영플레이어상, 베스트11 등 각종 기록과 수상을 거머쥐며 국가대표에도 발탁되었고, 내년부터는 토트넘에서 활약할 예정이다.
양민혁 선수는 12월 5일(목) 춘천에 위치한 강원FC 유스아카데미(U12 축구팀)와 후평중학교(U15 축구팀)를 방문하여 유소년 축구 후배들을 격려하고, 꿈과 희망을 선물하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
이어서 양민혁 선수는 강원도청을 방문해 구단주인 김진태 도지사를 면담하고, 춘천 시민들에게 감사의 마음을 담아 작별 인사를 전했다.
양민혁 선수는“팬들의 응원이 큰 힘이 되었다. 열렬히 응원해주신 춘천 시민분들과 김진태 구단주님께 감사드린다”며“영국에서도 열심히 할 테니 응원 부탁드린다”라고 감사 인사를 전했다.
구단주인 김진태 도지사는“양민혁 선수가 토트넘에 가서도 잘하고, 제2의 고향인 강원도를 잊지 않도록 도민들께서 많은 관심과 응원 부탁드린다”라고 말했다.
