즐길거리 넓힌 동해무릉제, 시민 참여도 확대

‘동해 맛 한입’으로 지역 먹거리 강화… 축제 방문객을 지역상권으로 연결

개막을 하루 앞둔 제39회 동해무릉제가 먹거리와 체험, 지역상권 연계 및 시민 참여 프로그램을 한층 강화해 관람객을 맞는다.

With just one day remaining before its opening, the 39th Donghae Mureung Festival is ready to welcome visitors with enhanced food offerings, hands-on activities, stronger connections to local businesses and expanded citizen participation programs.

올해는 축제 방문객의 소비가 지역상권으로 이어질 수 있도록 ‘동해 세일페스타’를 9월 14일부터 20일까지 7일간 운영한다. 관내 업소에서 3만 원 이상 구매한 영수증이나 관광지 입장권을 제시하면 기념품을 받을 수 있는 ‘동해사랑 영수증 투어’도 함께 진행한다.

 This year, the “Donghae Sale Festa” will run for seven days, from September 14 to 20, to encourage festival spending at local businesses. The “Donghae Love Receipt Tour” will also be held, offering souvenirs to visitors who present a receipt of KRW 30,000 or more from a local business or an admission ticket from a tourist attraction.

먹거리에는 지역색을 더했다. 행사장에는 지역 음식점 12곳이 참여하고, ‘동해 맛 한입’을 통해 지역의 다양한 메뉴를 소개한다. 먹거리 선택의 폭을 넓히면서 축제 방문을 지역 음식점과 관광지 이용으로 연결한다는 계획이다.

The festival’s food offerings will feature a stronger local identity. Twelve local restaurants will participate at the venue, while the “A Bite of Donghae” program will introduce visitors to a variety of regional dishes. The initiative aims to offer more dining choices while encouraging festivalgoers to visit local restaurants and tourist attractions.

세대별 참여 프로그램도 확대했다. 어린이 체험관과 전통 민속놀이를 비롯해 청소년 댄스페스티벌, 생활예술동아리 및 전문예술인 공연 등을 마련해 어린이부터 어르신까지 모든 세대가 함께 참여할 수 있도록 했다.

 Participation programs for different generations have also been expanded. A children’s experience zone, traditional folk games, a youth dance festival and performances by community arts groups and professional artists will offer opportunities for everyone—from young children to senior citizens—to take part.

해군 의장대·군악대·국악대 특별공연과 제1산악여단 특공무술 시범도 새롭게 선보인다. 지역 군인과 예술인, 청소년들이 직접 무대에 참여하면서 축제 콘텐츠도 더욱 다양해진다.

 New attractions will include special performances by the Navy honor guard, military band and traditional music ensemble, along with a special martial arts demonstration by the 1st Mountain Brigade. With local military personnel, artists and young people taking the stage, the festival will offer an even wider variety of content.

지난해 참여자들의 의견도 반영했다. 시민 퍼레이드는 폐지하고, 동 대항 민속경기는 순위별 시상 대신 모든 참가자에게 기념품을 지급하는 방식으로 변경해 경쟁보다 참여와 화합에 의미를 뒀다.

 Feedback from last year’s participants has also been reflected in this year’s program. The citizens’ parade has been discontinued, while the neighborhood folk games will provide souvenirs to participants instead of awarding prizes based on rankings, placing greater emphasis on participation and community harmony rather than competition.

관람객 편의와 안전대책도 강화한다. 특설무대에는 5,500석의 관람석을 마련하고, 쉼터 3개소와 화장실 9개소를 운영한다. 셔틀버스 7대와 교통·주차·질서 안내 인력을 배치하고, 소방차와 응급차량을 위한 별도의 이동 동선도 확보한다.

 Visitor convenience and safety measures will also be strengthened. A total of 5,500 seats will be installed at the special performance stage, along with three rest areas and nine restroom facilities. Seven shuttle buses will operate, and personnel will be deployed to assist with traffic, parking and crowd management. Separate access routes will also be secured for fire engines and emergency vehicles.

동해시와 동해문화관광재단은 개막 전 유관기관과 합동 현장점검을 실시해 시설물과 교통, 소방 및 응급 대응체계 등을 최종 확인할 계획이다.

 Before the festival opens, Donghae City and the Donghae Culture and Tourism Foundation will conduct a joint on-site inspection with relevant organizations to carry out final checks of facilities, traffic management and fire and emergency response systems.

#정연수 동해문화관광재단 대표이사는 “올해는 공연뿐만 아니라 먹거리와 체험, 지역상권 연계 등 시민과 관광객이 직접 참여하고 체감할 수 있는 부분을 강화했다”며 “개막까지 현장을 꼼꼼히 점검해 누구나 안전하고 편안하게 축제를 즐길 수 있도록 준비하겠다”고 말했다.
