강원특별자치도, 유엔해비타트와 함께 「도시회복력 중심 주택 접근법」 국제연수 개최

- 도, 2006년 유엔해비타트와 협약 체결… 2007년부터 19년간 국제연수 지속 -

강원특별자치도는 유엔해비타트(UN-Habitat)와 공동으로 8월 18일부터 27일까지 10일간 강원특별자치도 국제도시훈련센터(IUTC)에서 「도시회복력 중심 주택 접근법(Housing at the Centre Approach for Urban Resilience in Asian Cities)」 국제연수를 개최한다.

Gangwon State, in partnership with UN-Habitat, is hosting a 10-day international training program titled “Housing at the Centre Approach for Urban Resilience in Asian Cities” from August 18 to 27 at the International Urban Training Center (IUTC) in Gangwon State.

이번 국제연수는 기후변화와 도시화 등 급변하는 환경 속에서 지역사회의 도시회복력을 높이고, 포용적이고 지속가능한 주거 해법을 마련할 수 있도록 아시아·태평양 지역 도시 관계자들의 정책 및 실행 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

The training program is designed to strengthen the policy and implementation capacities of urban officials from the Asia-Pacific region, helping them enhance community resilience and develop inclusive and sustainable housing solutions amid rapidly changing conditions such as climate change and urbanization.

연수에는 방글라데시, 캄보디아, 피지, 인도, 인도네시아, 몽골, 네팔, 스리랑카 등 8개국에서 17명이 참가하며, 해외 전문 강사 5명도 참여해 다양한 주제를 다룬다.

Seventeen participants from eight countries—Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka—are taking part in the program. Five international experts are also participating as lecturers, covering a wide range of topics related to housing and urban resilience.

프로그램은 △지속가능발전목표(SDGs)와 지역 차원의 이행 △주택위기와 기후 취약성의 연관성 △주택문제를 위한 금융 및 재원조달 △도시와 기후변화 대응 등 이론 강의와 현장 견학으로 구성된다.

The program combines lectures and field visits, covering topics including △the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their implementation at the local level, △the relationship between the housing crisis and climate vulnerability, △financing and resource mobilization for housing solutions, and △urban responses to climate change.

참가자들은 춘천 남이섬의 친환경 건축 및 관광자원을 방문해 스마트·청정 도시 인프라와 주거환경에 대한 이해를 높일 예정이다.

Participants will also visit Nami Island in Chuncheon to explore eco-friendly architecture and tourism resources, enhancing their understanding of smart and clean urban infrastructure and sustainable residential environments.

강원특별자치도는 2006년 유엔해비타트와 협약을 체결한 이후 세계 지방정부 가운데 유일하게 국제 연수기관을 운영하고 있다. 2007년부터는 아시아·태평양 지역 개발도상국의 지속가능한 도시 발전과 인적 역량 강화를 지원하기 위한 공적개발원조(ODA) 사업을 19년째 이어오고 있다.

Since signing a partnership agreement with UN-Habitat in 2006, Gangwon State has operated an international urban training institution, which the province describes as unique among local governments worldwide. Since 2007, it has continued its Official Development Assistance (ODA) initiatives for 19 years, supporting sustainable urban development and human capacity building in developing countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Kim Young-gyun, Director General for International Cooperation of Gangwon State, said, “We hope this training program will provide an opportunity to jointly explore practical solutions to the housing and climate change challenges facing cities across the Asia-Pacific region.” He added, “Gangwon State will continue to share its urban policy experience with the international community and expand sustainable exchanges and cooperation with cities around the world.”
