동해시 송정지구 도시재생 주민협의체(대표 김형래)는 20일 (재)동해시민장학재단에 장학금 100만 원을 기탁했다.

On August 20, the Songjeong Urban Regeneration Residents’ Council, led by Kim Hyeong-rae, donated KRW 1 million to the Donghae Citizens Scholarship Foundation to support local students.

이번 장학금은 송정지구의 대표적인 도시재생 프로그램인 「불금전파, 송정」을 운영해 마련한 수익금으로 조성됐다.

The scholarship fund was raised through proceeds generated by “Friday Night Songjeong,” one of the Songjeong district’s signature urban regeneration programs.

「불금전파, 송정」은 주민과 상인이 함께 참여해 송정시장과 골목상권에 활력을 불어넣는 주민 주도형 도시재생 프로그램이다. 특히 주민협의체가 프로그램 운영의 주체로 직접 참여하며 지역 공동체 회복과 상권 활성화를 함께 만들어가고 있다.

“Friday Night Songjeong” is a community-led urban regeneration program in which local residents and merchants work together to bring renewed energy to Songjeong Market and nearby neighborhood businesses. The residents’ council plays a central role in organizing and operating the program, helping strengthen both the local community and commercial district.

이번 기탁은 도시재생사업을 통해 창출한 성과를 다시 지역사회에 환원했다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

This donation is particularly meaningful because the benefits generated through the urban regeneration project are being returned directly to the local community.

주민들이 직접 지역에 활력을 불어넣고, 그 과정에서 얻은 수익을 다시 지역 청소년의 미래를 위해 나누면서 ‘도시재생 → 지역 활성화 → 지역사회 환원’으로 이어지는 선순환 사례를 만들어냈다.

By revitalizing their own neighborhood and sharing the proceeds with young people in the community, residents have created a positive cycle of “urban regeneration → local revitalization → community reinvestment.”

#김형래 송정지구 도시재생 주민협의체 대표는 “불금전파 송정은 주민들이 함께 고민하고 직접 만들어 온 프로그램인 만큼, 그 성과를 지역사회와 나누고 싶었다”며 “작은 정성이지만 지역 학생들이 꿈을 키워가는 데 힘이 되길 바라며, 앞으로도 주민이 주도하는 도시재생과 지역사회 나눔을 꾸준히 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Kim Hyeong-rae, head of the Songjeong Urban Regeneration Residents’ Council, said, “Friday Night Songjeong is a program that residents have planned and built together, so we wanted to share its achievements with the community. We hope this contribution, though modest, will help local students pursue their dreams. We will continue our efforts toward resident-led urban regeneration and community giving.”
