“수도꼭지까지 안전하게” 동해시, 상하수도 기반시설 촘촘히 관리

동해시가 시민 생활의 기본인 안전하고 깨끗한 물 공급을 위해 상수원부터 정수장, 상수관로, 각 가정에 이르기까지 전 과정의 관리체계를 강화하고 있다.

Donghae City is strengthening its comprehensive water management system—from water sources and treatment facilities to pipelines and individual households—to ensure a safe and clean water supply, one of the most essential foundations of daily life.

■ 1차 상수도 현대화 사업, 유수율 87.3% 달성

Phase 1 Waterworks Modernization Achieves 87.3% Revenue Water Ratio

시는 2019년부터 2025년까지 총 322억 원을 투입한 지방상수도 현대화 1차 사업을 통해 노후관 교체와 누수탐사·복구, 상수관망 블록시스템 구축 등을 추진했다.

From 2019 to 2025, Donghae City invested a total of KRW 32.2 billion in the first phase of its local waterworks modernization project. The project included replacing aging pipelines, detecting and repairing leaks, and establishing a block-based water distribution network.

그 결과 사업구역의 유수율은 87.3%를 기록해 당초 목표치인 85%를 넘어섰다.

As a result, the project area achieved a revenue water ratio of 87.3%, exceeding the original target of 85%.

■ 올해부터 434억 원 규모 2차 현대화 사업 본격 추진

KRW 43.4 Billion Phase 2 Modernization Project Begins This Year

동해시는 올해부터 총 434억 원 규모의 ‘지방상수도 현대화 2차 사업’을 본격적으로 추진한다.

Beginning this year, Donghae City is launching the second phase of its local waterworks modernization project, with a total investment of KRW 43.4 billion.

사문·쇄운지역의 노후 상수관로를 단계적으로 정비하는 한편, 노후화된 이원정수장을 쇄운정수장으로 이전·개량해 보다 안정적인 수돗물 생산·공급 기반을 구축할 계획이다.

The city plans to gradually replace aging water pipelines in the Samun and Swaeun areas. It will also relocate and upgrade the aging Iwon Water Treatment Plant to the Swaeun Water Treatment Plant site, strengthening the foundation for a more stable production and supply of tap water.

■ 상수원에서 가정 수도꼭지까지 단계별 수질관리

Water Quality Management from the Source to Household Taps

시설 현대화와 함께 수질 안전성도 상시 확인하고 있다. 상수원부터 정수·급수 과정까지 일일·주간·월간 단위로 수질검사를 실시하고 그 결과를 공개하고 있다.

Alongside infrastructure modernization, the city continuously monitors water quality and safety. Water quality tests are conducted on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis throughout the entire process, from water sources to treatment and distribution, with the results made available to the public.

시민이 직접 가정 내 수돗물의 수질을 무료로 확인할 수 있는 ‘우리집 수돗물 안심확인제’도 지속 운영하고 있다.

Donghae City also continues to operate the “Home Tap Water Safety Check Service,” which allows residents to have the quality of their household tap water tested free of charge.

■ 하수관로 정비로 하천과 연안 수질까지 보호

Sewer Improvements to Protect Rivers and Coastal Waters

사용한 물을 안전하게 처리하기 위한 하수도 인프라 확충에도 속도를 내고 있다.

The city is also accelerating the expansion and improvement of sewer infrastructure to ensure that wastewater is safely collected and treated.

송정·부곡·북평·묵호분구 등을 중심으로 노후 하수관로 정비와 오수·우수 분리사업을 추진해 시민 생활환경을 개선하고 하천과 연안의 수질 보호도 함께 도모한다.

Focusing on areas including Songjeong, Bugok, Bukpyeong, and Mukho, the city is improving aging sewer pipelines and carrying out projects to separate wastewater from stormwater. These efforts are designed to improve residential environments while also protecting the water quality of local rivers and coastal areas.
