동해시, 가족이 행복한 도시 만든다

동해시가 가족이 행복해야 아이도 행복하고 지역사회도 건강해질 수 있다는 인식 아래, 결혼부터 양육까지 가족의 삶을 함께 지원하는 생애주기별 가족 맞춤형 프로그램 「다함께 있을 때, 행복」 사업을 운영한다.

Donghae City is launching a new life-stage customized family support initiative titled “Happier When We’re Together”, based on the belief that happy families help raise happy children and create a healthier community. The program is designed to support families throughout different stages of life, from marriage preparation to parenting.

이번 사업은 결혼을 준비하는 청년의 경제적 부담과 부모의 양육 스트레스 등 가족이 생애주기마다 겪는 어려움을 덜고, 가족 구성원이 함께 성장하며 행복한 삶을 이어갈 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.

The initiative aims to ease the challenges families face at different stages of life, including the financial pressures experienced by young people preparing for marriage and the stress parents may encounter while raising children. It is designed to help family members grow together and build happier, more stable lives.

특히 단편적인 지원에 그치지 않고 결혼 준비부터 출산·양육에 이르기까지 각 단계에서 필요한 프로그램을 제공함으로써 시민들이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 가족친화적 환경을 조성하는 데 목적이 있다.

Rather than providing one-time or fragmented assistance, the program seeks to offer practical support at each stage—from preparing for marriage to raising children—ultimately creating a family-friendly environment that residents can experience in their everyday lives.

사업은 ▲예비·청년부부를 위한 ‘행복솔루션’ ▲미취학 자녀를 둔 다자녀가정을 위한 ‘행복UP 건강UP 패밀리데이’ ▲만 18세 이하 자녀를 둔 부모 대상 ‘엄마, 아빠도 행복이 필요해’ 등 모두 3개 프로그램으로 운영된다.

The initiative consists of three customized programs: “Happiness Solution” for engaged and young married couples; “Happiness UP, Health UP Family Day” for multi-child families with preschool-aged children; and “Moms and Dads Need Happiness Too” for parents with children aged 18 or younger.

첫 번째 프로그램인 ‘행복솔루션’은 예비부부와 결혼 5년 이하 신혼부부 10쌍을 대상으로 진행된다. 가계관리와 자산 형성, 금융상식 등 결혼 초기 안정적인 가정경제 기반을 마련하는 데 필요한 실질적인 재무설계 교육을 제공한다.

The first program, “Happiness Solution,” is designed for 10 engaged or newlywed couples who have been married for five years or less. It will provide practical financial planning education covering household budgeting, asset building, and essential financial knowledge to help couples establish a stable financial foundation early in their marriage.

참가 신청은 8월 14일부터 30일간 선착순으로 접수하며, 교육은 9월 3일 꿈빛마루도서관에서 열린다.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for 30 days beginning August 14, with the program scheduled to take place on September 3 at Kkumbitmaru Library.

이어 동해시는 가족이 함께 참여하는 문화·체험 프로그램을 통해 가족 간 소통을 활성화하고 건강한 여가문화를 확대할 계획이다. 또한 부모 마음건강 프로그램을 운영해 양육 과정에서 발생하는 스트레스를 완화하는 등 가족 구성원 모두의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 다양한 지원을 순차적으로 추진한다.

Donghae City also plans to introduce cultural and experiential activities that families can enjoy together, encouraging communication and healthier leisure habits. In addition, mental wellness programs for parents will be offered to help reduce parenting stress and improve the overall quality of life for all family members.

동해시는 이번 사업을 시작으로 생애주기별 가족지원 정책을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 방침이다. 결혼과 출산, 양육이 부담으로만 인식되지 않고 가족이 함께 만들어가는 행복한 삶의 과정이 될 수 있도록 지원 환경을 강화하고, 가족친화 문화가 지역사회 전반에 자연스럽게 확산될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Building on this initiative, Donghae City plans to continue expanding family support policies tailored to different stages of life. The city hopes to create an environment where marriage, childbirth, and parenting are viewed not simply as burdens, but as meaningful stages of a happy family life, while fostering a family-friendly culture throughout the community.
