동해 삼화사 템플스테이 화재…2시간 만에 진화, 인명피해 없어

강원 동해시 삼화사 템플스테이 건물에서 화재가 발생했으나 신속한 대응으로 큰 피해를 막았다.

A fire broke out in a temple stay building at Samhwasa Temple in Donghae, Gangwon Province, but a rapid emergency response prevented a larger disaster.

1일 오후 3시 41분쯤 강원특별자치도 동해시 삼화동에 위치한 삼화사 템플스테이 건물에서 불이 발생했다.

At approximately 3:41 p.m. on August 1, a fire started in a temple stay building at Samhwasa Temple in Samhwa-dong, Donghae, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

소방당국, 인력 60명·장비 22대 투입

신고를 접수한 소방당국과 동해시는 소방대원 등 인력 60명과 장비 22대를 긴급 투입해 진화 작업을 벌였으며, 약 2시간 만인 오후 5시 46분 초기 진화를 완료했다.

After receiving the emergency call, firefighters and Donghae City officials dispatched 60 personnel and 22 emergency vehicles. The fire was brought under initial control at 5:46 p.m., roughly two hours after it began.

화재는 템플스테이 프로그램이 진행되던 건물에서 발생했으나 사찰 내 다른 전각이나 시설로는 불길이 번지지 않았다. 당시 현장에 있던 템플스테이 참가자 등 6명은 모두 무사히 대피해 인명 피해는 발생하지 않았다.

Although the fire originated in the temple stay building, it did not spread to other temple structures. All six people, including temple stay participants, evacuated safely, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.
