동해시-연세대 원주의대, 지역 공공의료 인재 양성 맞손

동해시보건소가 지역 공공의료 인재 양성을 위해 연세대학교 원주의과대학과 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, 의과대학생 대상 현장실습 프로그램을 운영한다.

Donghae City Public Health Center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine to cultivate future public healthcare professionals through a field training program for medical students.

이번 협약은 지역 필수의료와 공공의료의 중요성이 커지는 가운데, 예비 의료인들이 지역 보건 현장을 직접 경험하고 고령화 등 지역 특성에 맞는 보건의료 서비스와 공공의료의 역할을 이해할 수 있도록 마련됐다.

The agreement comes at a time when the importance of essential regional healthcare and public health services is growing. It aims to provide future physicians with firsthand experience in local healthcare settings while helping them better understand community-based medical services and the role of public healthcare in addressing regional challenges such as population aging.

협약에 따라 연세대 원주의대 학생들은 오는 8월 6일부터 10월 15일까지 9주간 매주 1명씩 순환하며 동해시보건소 현장실습에 참여한다.

Under the agreement, one Yonsei Wonju medical student will participate each week in a nine-week rotation at the Donghae City Public Health Center, from August 6 to October 15.

실습은 보건소 일차진료 참관을 비롯해 맞춤형 건강증진사업과 지역 밀착형 보건사업 등 다양한 공공보건 업무를 직접 체험하는 방식으로 진행된다. 학생들은 현장 실무를 경험하며 지역 보건의료체계와 공공의료의 역할을 폭넓게 이해하는 기회를 갖게 된다.

The program includes observing primary care services at the public health center, participating in customized health promotion initiatives, and experiencing a wide range of community-based public health programs. Through hands-on practice, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of regional healthcare systems and the vital role of public healthcare.

#박경혜 연세대 원주의과대학 교육부학장은 “학생들이 강의실을 벗어나 지역사회 기반 의료를 직접 경험함으로써, 공공의료에 대한 시야를 넓히고 한층 더 성장할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것”이라고 말했다.

Park Kyung-hye, Vice Dean for Education at Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, said, "This program will give our students a valuable opportunity to step beyond the classroom, experience community-based healthcare firsthand, broaden their perspective on public medicine, and grow both professionally and personally."

#홍종란 보건정책과장은 “이번 현장 중심 교육이 예비 의료인들에게 지역 공공의료의 중요성과 가치를 직접 체감하는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 내실 있는 실습 프로그램을 운영해 지역 공공의료 인재 양성에 적극 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

Hong Jong-ran, Director of the Health Policy Division, said, "We hope this hands-on training program will help future healthcare professionals fully appreciate the importance and value of regional public healthcare. We will continue to strengthen practical training opportunities to nurture talented professionals who will contribute to community health."
