폭염 속 따뜻한 나눔… 발한동, 취약계층 영양식 꾸러미 전달

Warm Hearts in the Summer Heat: Balhan-dong Delivers Nutritious Food Packages to Vulnerable Residents

폭염이 이어지는 한여름, 동해시 발한동에서는 무더위보다 더 따뜻한 마음이 지역사회를 감싸고 있습니다. 발한동지역사회보장협의체는 지난 15일 저소득 취약계층 350가구를 대상으로 「건강한 여름나기 영양식 지원사업」을 추진하며 건강한 여름을 응원했습니다.

Amid the intense summer heat, an even warmer spirit of community spread throughout Balhan-dong in Donghae City. On July 15, the Balhan-dong Community Social Security Council delivered nutritious food packages to 350 low-income and vulnerable households through its "Healthy Summer Nutrition Support Project," helping residents stay healthy during the hottest season of the year.

이번 사업은 발한동 지역사회보장협의체 지역특성화 공모사업의 일환으로 마련됐습니다. 폭염에 취약한 독거노인과 장애인 등 이웃들이 건강하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 공동모금회 지원사업비와 협의체 자부담을 활용해 영양식 꾸러미를 준비했습니다.

The project was carried out as part of Balhan-dong's community-focused welfare initiative. With support from the Community Chest of Korea and matching funds from the council, nutritious food packages were prepared to help elderly people living alone, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable residents maintain their health during the extreme heat.

꾸러미에는 10곡 미숫가루와 신선한 토마토, 바나나 등 여름철 영양 보충에 도움이 되는 식품들이 담겼습니다. 간편하게 섭취할 수 있으면서도 건강을 챙길 수 있도록 세심하게 구성해 무더위 속 체력 회복을 돕도록 했습니다.

Each package included nutritious multi-grain powder, fresh tomatoes, bananas, and other healthy foods suitable for hot summer days. Carefully selected for both convenience and nutrition, the items were intended to help recipients replenish energy and stay healthy despite the prolonged heat.

특히 지역 통장들과 함께 대상 가정을 직접 찾아 영양식을 전달하고 안부를 살피며 생활 여건을 확인했습니다. 단순한 물품 지원을 넘어 외로움을 덜고 복지사각지대를 살피는 '찾아가는 복지서비스'가 함께 이루어졌다는 점에서 더욱 의미를 더했습니다.

Community leaders personally visited each household to deliver the food packages, check on residents' well-being, and identify any additional welfare needs. Beyond providing food, the initiative strengthened emotional support and demonstrated the value of proactive, community-based welfare services.

#전길순 발한동장은 "민·관이 함께하는 따뜻한 나눔이 지역사회 돌봄의 든든한 기반이 되고 있다"며 "앞으로도 촘촘한 복지안전망을 구축해 주민 모두가 행복한 발한동을 만들어 가겠다"고 밝혔습니다.

Balhan-dong Director Jeon Gil-soon said, "The warm cooperation between the public and private sectors has become a strong foundation for community care. We will continue building a comprehensive welfare safety net so that every resident of Balhan-dong can live with greater security and happiness."

작은 영양식 꾸러미 하나에는 건강을 향한 마음과 서로를 돌보는 공동체 정신이 담겨 있습니다. 폭염보다 뜨거운 나눔이 지역을 더욱 따뜻하게 만들고 있습니다.

A simple package of nutritious food carries something greater than its contents—it delivers care, hope, and the spirit of community. In Balhan-dong, compassion continues to shine even brighter than the summer sun.
