동해해수청, 우수 해수욕장 선정 위한 현장평가

동해지방해양수산청(청장 박정인)은 강원특별자치도와 각 지방자치단체가 추천한 우수 해수욕장 후보지 6개소를 대상으로 7월 20일부터 7월 30일까지 2주간 현장평가를 실시한다고 밝혔다.

The Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, headed by Commissioner Park Jeong-in, announced that it will conduct a two-week on-site evaluation from July 20 to July 30 for six candidate beaches recommended by Gangwon State and local governments.

평가는 해수욕장의 관리 수준과 운영 역량을 객관적으로 점검해 우수 해수욕장을 발굴하고, 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 해양관광 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.

The evaluation aims to identify outstanding beaches by objectively assessing management standards and operational capabilities while promoting safer and more pleasant coastal tourism.

평가 대상 해수욕장

Beaches Under Evaluation

이번 평가 대상은 강릉 경포해수욕장, 동해 망상해수욕장, 속초 청호해수욕장, 삼척해수욕장, 고성 송지호해수욕장, 양양 낙산해수욕장 등 강원권 대표 해수욕장 6곳이다.

The six beaches selected for evaluation represent some of Gangwon’s most popular seaside destinations: Gyeongpo Beach (Gangneung), Mangsang Beach (Donghae), Cheongho Beach (Sokcho), Samcheok Beach, Songjiho Beach (Goseong), and Naksan Beach (Yangyang).

What Will Be Evaluated?

현장평가는 해양수산부의 평가기준에 따라 시설관리 상태와 운영현황을 중심으로 진행되며, 이후 이용객 만족도 설문조사 결과를 합산해 강원권 우수 해수욕장 3개소를 1차 선정하게 된다.

Based on the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ evaluation standards, inspectors will assess facility management and operational performance. These scores will then be combined with visitor satisfaction survey results to select three outstanding beaches from the Gangwon region in the first round.

평가 항목은 ▲환경관리 ▲안전관리 ▲물가관리 ▲편의시설 ▲운영체계(불편신고센터 운영 등) ▲특화 관광프로그램 ▲홍보 등 7개 분야로 구성된다.

The assessment covers seven key categories: environmental management, safety management, price management, visitor convenience facilities, operational systems (including complaint service centers), specialized tourism programs, and promotional activities.

최종 선정은 11월

Final Selection Scheduled for November

1차 평가를 통과한 해수욕장은 해양수산부 해수욕장 평가위원회의 최종 심사를 거치며, 2026년 11월 전국 우수 해수욕장 3개소가 최종 선정된다. 선정된 해수욕장에는 해양수산부 장관상과 포상금이 수여될 예정이다.

The beaches selected in the first round will proceed to the final review by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Evaluation Committee. Three outstanding beaches nationwide will be announced in November 2026, with winners receiving the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Award and prize money.

최근 선정 사례를 보면 2024년에는 강릉 경포해수욕장과 삼척해수욕장, 2022년과 2021년에는 속초해수욕장이 우수 해수욕장으로 선정됐으며, 2023년에는 강원지역 선정 사례가 없었다.

Previous winners include Gyeongpo Beach and Samcheok Beach in 2024, while Sokcho Beach earned the honor in both 2022 and 2021. No Gangwon beach was selected in 2023.

동해지방해양수산청 관계자는 "이번 평가는 단순한 경쟁이 아니라 해수욕장의 시설 개선과 이용객 편의 증진을 위한 과정"이라며, "안전시설과 편의시설, 관리체계, 이용객 만족도 등을 종합적으로 검토해 공정하게 평가하겠다"고 밝혔다.

An official from the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries emphasized that the evaluation is not merely a competition but an opportunity to improve beach facilities and enhance visitor experiences. The official added that the assessment would be conducted fairly by comprehensively reviewing safety, convenience, management systems, and visitor satisfaction.

우수 해수욕장 평가는 해수욕장의 경쟁력을 높이는 동시에 관광객에게 더욱 안전하고 쾌적한 해양관광 환경을 제공하기 위한 중요한 제도이다. 올해 강원권에서는 어떤 해수욕장이 최종 우수 해수욕장에 이름을 올릴지 관심이 모아지고 있다.

The Outstanding Beach Evaluation Program plays an important role in strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's beaches while providing visitors with safer and more enjoyable seaside experiences. Attention is now focused on which Gangwon beaches will ultimately earn national recognition this year.
