Through the Peak Pricing Program

동해시가 여름 성수기 숙박요금의 과도한 인상을 막고, 관광객들이 안심하고 머물 수 있는 숙박문화를 만들기 위해 ‘피서철 숙박요금 피크제’를 운영합니다.

Donghae City is introducing its Summer Accommodation Peak Pricing Program to prevent excessive price increases during the peak vacation season and to create a fair and trustworthy lodging environment where visitors can stay with confidence.

‘피서철 숙박요금 피크제’는 7~8월 성수기 숙박요금을 비수기 요금의 2배 이내로 제한하고, 숙박업소가 이를 사전에 신고하는 자율 참여 제도입니다. 올해는 지역 내 88개 숙박업소가 참여해 합리적인 가격으로 관광객을 맞이합니다.

The program is a voluntary initiative in which accommodation providers register their peak-season rates in advance while keeping prices within twice the off-season rate during July and August. This year, 88 lodging businesses across Donghae are participating to offer fair and reasonable prices.

참여 숙박업소는 기존 숙박요금 범위(4만 원~70만 원) 안에서 성수기 요금을 책정하며, 「공중위생관리법」에 등록된 숙박업소만 대상입니다. 에어비앤비 등 미등록 숙소는 제외되며, 참여 업소는 동해시 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있습니다.

Participating accommodations set their summer rates within their existing price range (KRW 40,000–700,000) and are limited to businesses officially registered under Korea's Public Sanitation Control Act. Unregistered accommodations, including many Airbnb listings, are excluded. Visitors can check participating businesses on the Donghae City website.

동해시는 본격적인 여름 휴가철을 앞두고 관내 숙박업소 135개소를 대상으로 자율 위생점검도 실시했습니다. 객실 침구류와 화장실 청결, 냉방기 위생관리 등을 점검한 결과 대부분의 업소가 위생관리 기준을 충실히 준수한 것으로 확인됐습니다.

Ahead of the busy summer holiday season, Donghae City also carried out voluntary hygiene inspections at 135 accommodation businesses. The inspections focused on bedding cleanliness, bathroom sanitation, and air-conditioning maintenance, with most businesses meeting the city's hygiene standards.

동해시는 숙박요금 피크제를 통해 바가지요금을 예방하고, 투명한 가격과 깨끗한 숙박환경을 함께 조성해 관광객의 만족도를 높인다는 계획입니다.

Through the Peak Pricing Program, Donghae City aims to eliminate unfair price hikes while promoting transparent pricing and clean accommodations, ensuring a more enjoyable and satisfying travel experience for all visitors.

#윤혜경 예방관리과장은 "숙박업소의 자율적인 적정요금 신고가 건전한 숙박문화 조성과 바가지요금 근절에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다"며 "관광객들이 안심하고 머물 수 있는 환경을 조성해 다시 찾고 싶은 관광도시 동해시를 만들겠다"고 말했습니다.
