동해시가 여름철 시민과 관광객들이 시원하고 안전하게 물놀이를 즐길 수 있도록 전천 물놀이장과 무릉오선녀탕을 비롯한 다양한 물놀이 시설을 본격 운영하며 여름 관광객 맞이에 나섰다.

Donghae City has officially opened a variety of summer water attractions, including the Jeoncheon Water Playground and Mureung Oseonnyeotang, providing residents and visitors with safe, refreshing places to cool off during the hottest season of the year.

도심 속 대표 물놀이 공간인 전천 물놀이장은 지난해 운영 결과를 반영해 물놀이 공간을 확대하고 새로운 놀이시설을 추가 설치하는 등 이용환경을 개선해 7월 13일 개장했다.

The Jeoncheon Water Playground, one of the city's most popular urban summer attractions, opened on July 13 after expanding its splash zone and installing additional play facilities based on visitor feedback from last year.

시설을 분산 배치해 혼잡을 줄였으며, 인근 관정을 새롭게 설치해 담수 시간을 단축하는 등 운영 효율도 크게 높였다.

To improve convenience, facilities have been more evenly distributed to reduce congestion, while a newly installed groundwater supply system shortens water refilling time and enhances operational efficiency.

물놀이장은 바닥분수와 우산분수, 그늘막, 평상 등을 갖추고 있으며 수심을 30cm 이하로 유지해 어린이들도 안전하게 이용할 수 있도록 조성됐다. 운영기간은 9월 13일까지이며, 월요일부터 목요일은 오전 11시부터 오후 5시까지, 금요일부터 일요일은 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 운영된다. 수질과 안전관리를 위해 50분 운영 후 10분간 휴식하는 방식으로 운영된다.

The playground features ground fountains, umbrella fountains, shaded rest areas, and wooden platforms. Water depth is maintained below 30 centimeters, making it safe for young children. It operates through September 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays (Monday–Thursday) and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends (Friday–Sunday). For water quality and safety, the facility operates in 50-minute sessions followed by 10-minute breaks.

지난해 약 3천 명이 찾은 전천 물놀이장은 올해 시설 확장과 함께 뜬마루정원, 전천나루카페, 파크골프장, 미니골프장, 산책로 등 전천 일대 생활여가시설과 연계되어 물놀이와 휴식, 산책을 함께 즐길 수 있는 도심 속 가족 여가공간으로 기대를 모으고 있다.

Last year, the Jeoncheon Water Playground welcomed approximately 3,000 visitors. This year, it is expected to become an even more attractive family destination by connecting with nearby leisure facilities such as the Floating Garden, Jeoncheon Naru Café, park golf course, mini golf course, and scenic walking trails.

자연 속 물놀이를 즐길 수 있는 무릉오선녀탕도 운영을 시작했다. 무릉계곡의 아름다운 자연환경을 활용한 야외 물놀이 시설과 편의시설을 갖춘 이곳은 지난해 1만 8,342명이 방문한 동해시 대표 여름 명소다. 올해도 시원한 계곡과 함께 쾌적하고 안전한 물놀이 환경을 제공하며 피서객들을 맞이한다.

Mureung Oseonnyeotang has also opened for the season. Nestled within the beautiful Mureung Valley, this outdoor water recreation area combines natural scenery with convenient visitor facilities. After welcoming more than 18,000 visitors last year, it continues to offer a refreshing and family-friendly destination this summer.

망상·추암·어달·대진·하평해수욕장도 본격적인 피서철을 맞아 운영을 시작했다. 동해시는 도심형 물놀이장과 자연형 물놀이 시설, 그리고 아름다운 해수욕장을 함께 운영하며 다양한 여름 관광 수요에 대응하고 있다.

Donghae's major beaches—including Mangsang, Chuam, Eodal, Daejin, and Happyeong—are also welcoming visitors for the summer season. Together with the city's urban water playgrounds and natural recreation areas, they provide diverse options for every type of summer traveler.

시는 안전요원 배치, 수질관리, 시설물 점검 등 안전관리를 강화해 가족 단위 이용객들이 안심하고 물놀이를 즐길 수 있도록 운영에 만전을 기할 계획이다.
