동해시 공예문화 저력 입증…

동해시는 민속공예기술의 전승과 공예문화 발전을 위해 열린 「제56회 강원특별자치도 공예품대전」에서 동상 1점과 특선 1점을 수상하며 지역 공예문화의 우수성을 다시 한번 입증했다.

Donghae City has once again demonstrated the excellence of its local craft culture by winning one Bronze Prize and one Special Prize at the 56th Gangwon State Craft Competition, an event dedicated to preserving traditional craftsmanship and promoting the development of Korean crafts.

시는 매년 강원특별자치도 공예품대전에 출품하는 지역 공예업체를 대상으로 업체당 100만 원의 출품 지원금을 지원하며 창작활동을 적극 장려하고 있다. 올해는 3개 업체가 총 3점의 작품을 출품했으며, 그 가운데 2점이 수상의 영예를 안아 동해시 공예문화의 높은 경쟁력을 보여주었다.

Every year, Donghae City supports local artisans by providing KRW 1 million in financial assistance per participating workshop for entries to the Gangwon State Craft Competition. This year, three local craft businesses submitted three works, and two of them received awards, highlighting the city's impressive creative capability and artistic competitiveness.

이번 대회에는 금속, 섬유, 목칠, 종이 등 다양한 분야의 공예품이 출품되었으며, 작품성, 상품성, 디자인, 창의성 등을 종합적으로 평가받았다. 심사 결과 석수정 작가의 섬유공예 작품 「결을 잇다」가 동상을, 최승현 작가의 도자공예 작품 「오방의 빛, 복을 잇다」가 특선을 수상했다.

The competition featured outstanding works in various categories, including metal, textile, woodcraft, lacquerware, and paper crafts. Entries were evaluated based on artistic excellence, marketability, design quality, and creativity. **"Connecting the Grain"** by textile artist **Seok Su-jeong** received the Bronze Prize, while ceramic artist Choi Seung-hyun earned the Special Prize with "The Five Colors of Fortune."

수상작을 포함한 선정 작품은 7월 10일부터 12일까지 춘천문화원 의암전시실에서 전시되며, 선정된 25점은 강원특별자치도를 대표하여 「제56회 대한민국 공예품대전」 본선에 출품될 예정이다.

The award-winning works, together with other selected entries, will be exhibited from **July 10 to July 12** at the **Uiam Exhibition Hall of Chuncheon Cultural Center**. The 25 selected works will go on to represent Gangwon State at the **56th Korea Craft Competition**.
