동해해수청, 지역사회와 등대해양문화공간 활성화 간담회 개최

등대가 길을 비추는 시대를 넘어, 이제는 지역의 문화와 관광을 밝히는 공간으로 새롭게 거듭나고 있습니다.

Lighthouses are no longer just navigational beacons—they are becoming vibrant spaces that illuminate local culture and tourism.

동해지방해양수산청(청장 박정인)은 7월 8일 강원권역 등대해양문화공간의 활성화를 위해 민·관 관계기관이 함께하는 간담회를 개최했다.

On July 8, the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries held a public-private consultative meeting to discuss strategies for revitalizing lighthouse marine cultural spaces across the Gangwon region.

이번 간담회에는 동해시 관광과, 동해청소년수련관, 강원관광재단, 지역 문화예술단체 등 다양한 기관이 참여해 등대해양문화공간의 시설 개선과 문화행사 콘텐츠 발굴, 홍보 활성화 방안 등을 폭넓게 논의했다.

Participants included Donghae City's Tourism Division, Donghae Youth Center, the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, and local cultural and arts organizations. Together, they discussed facility improvements, new cultural programs, and stronger promotional strategies for lighthouse cultural spaces.

회의에서는 묵호등대, 주문진등대, 속초등대 등 등대해양문화공간과 대진등대를 비롯한 9개 등대스탬프 운영 시설을 관광·교육 자원으로 더욱 발전시키기 위한 다양한 아이디어가 제시됐다.

The meeting introduced a variety of ideas to further develop lighthouse cultural spaces—including Mukho, Jumunjin, and Sokcho Lighthouses—as well as nine lighthouse stamp-tour sites such as Daejin Lighthouse into valuable tourism and educational resources.

또한 관광객과 시민들이 보다 쉽게 등대를 즐길 수 있도록 관련 규제 개선 사항도 함께 논의하며 이용 편의성을 높이는 방안을 모색했다.

Participants also discussed possible regulatory improvements that would make lighthouse facilities more accessible and enjoyable for both residents and visitors.

문화콘텐츠 분야에서는 묵호등대 담장을 활용한 국민 참여형 벽화 디자인 프로젝트를 지자체와 협력해 추진하는 방안이 제안되었으며, 지역의 특색을 담은 새로운 문화행사 발굴에도 뜻을 모았다.

In the cultural content session, participants proposed a community mural design project for the walls of Mukho Lighthouse in cooperation with the local government and agreed to explore new cultural events that reflect the region's unique identity.

홍보 분야에서는 각 기관이 보유한 다양한 홍보 채널을 공동 활용하고, 규제개선 캠페인 등을 함께 추진해 등대해양문화공간의 인지도를 높여 나가기로 했다.

For promotion, participating organizations agreed to jointly utilize their communication channels and cooperate on regulatory improvement campaigns to raise public awareness of lighthouse marine cultural spaces.

동해지방해양수산청은 앞으로도 관계기관과 지속적인 협력을 통해 등대를 단순한 항로표지가 아닌 문화와 관광, 교육이 어우러진 지역의 대표 해양문화공간으로 발전시켜 나갈 계획이다.

The Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries plans to continue working closely with partner organizations so that lighthouses will evolve beyond navigational facilities into iconic destinations where culture, tourism, education, and the sea come together.

동해지방해양수산청 관계자는 "등대를 찾는 방문객들이 등대의 역사와 가치를 자연스럽게 체험하고, 힐링과 추억을 함께 만들 수 있는 공간으로 조성하기 위해 관계기관과 적극 협력해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

An official from the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries said, "We will continue working closely with related organizations to create lighthouse spaces where visitors can naturally experience the history and value of lighthouses while enjoying moments of healing and lasting memories."
