동해시, 해수욕장 6곳 개장… 41일간 여름 관광객 맞이

동해시가 7월 8일 지역 내 6개 해수욕장을 일제히 개장하며 본격적인 여름 관광 시즌의 시작을 알렸다. 이날 오전 망상해수욕장에서 안전기원제와 개장식을 개최하며 시민과 관광객의 안전과 풍성한 여름을 기원했다.

Donghae City officially launched its 2026 summer beach season on July 8 by opening all six of its beaches. A safety ceremony and opening event at Mangsang Beach marked the beginning of a summer dedicated to both safe recreation and memorable seaside experiences.

올해 운영되는 해수욕장은 망상, 망상리조트, 추암, 노봉, 대진, 어달 등 총 6곳으로, 오는 8월 17일까지 41일간 운영된다. 각 해변은 저마다의 특색을 살린 테마형 관광 콘텐츠를 갖춰 방문객들에게 다양한 여름의 즐거움을 선사한다.

This year's season features six beaches—Mangsang, Mangsang Resort, Chuam, Nobong, Daejin, and Eodal—welcoming visitors for 41 days through August 17. Each beach offers its own unique theme, allowing travelers to experience different styles of summer along Donghae's beautiful coastline.

망상해수욕장은 어린이 풀장과 에어바운스를 갖춘 가족친화형 해변으로 운영되며, 추암해수욕장은 아름다운 야간경관을 즐길 수 있는 야간 특화 해변으로 조성됐다. 대진해수욕장은 서핑을 비롯한 해양레저 중심의 해변이며, 어달해수욕장은 감성 카페거리와 포토존이 어우러진 감성 여행지로 꾸며졌다. 노봉해수욕장은 자연 그대로의 풍경을 즐길 수 있는 웰니스 해변으로 운영된다.

Mangsang Beach is designed as a family-friendly destination with inflatable attractions and children's pools. Chuam Beach highlights its spectacular nighttime scenery, while Daejin Beach welcomes surfing and marine leisure enthusiasts. Eodal Beach combines picturesque cafés with photo spots, creating a romantic seaside atmosphere, and Nobong Beach offers a peaceful wellness retreat surrounded by untouched coastal nature.

망상해수욕장에서는 운영 기간 동안 관광기념품과 지역 특산품을 판매하는 굿즈샵도 야간까지 운영된다. 이곳은 여행의 추억을 담는 공간이자 동해시의 관광 브랜드를 알리는 홍보 거점으로 활용될 예정이다.

A souvenir shop at Mangsang Beach will remain open into the evening throughout the season, offering locally inspired merchandise and regional specialty products. More than a shopping space, it serves as a showcase for Donghae's tourism identity and local culture.

동해시는 해수욕장 운영 기간 동안 인명구조 안전관리요원 배치, 수질관리, 환경정비를 지속적으로 실시해 누구나 안심하고 이용할 수 있는 깨끗하고 안전한 해변 환경을 유지할 계획이다.

Throughout the season, the city will deploy professional lifeguards, continuously monitor water quality, and maintain beach cleanliness to ensure that every visitor can enjoy a safe, comfortable, and pleasant seaside holiday.

#이진화 관광과장은 "올여름 동해를 찾는 시민과 관광객 모두가 안전하고 즐거운 휴가를 보낼 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"며 "차별화된 관광 콘텐츠와 쾌적한 해변 환경으로 다시 찾고 싶은 동해시를 만들어 가겠다"고 밝혔다.
