Presenting a New Paradigm for Region-Led Immigration Policies to Revitalize Local Communities

이번 학술대회는 '지역 주도 이민정책과 정착 생태계 구축'을 대주제로 열렸으며, 8개 분과와 32개 세션에서 다양한 연구와 정책 제안이 발표되었다. 학계 전문가와 정책 담당자 등 250여 명이 참석해 경제활동인구 감소와 지역 활력 회복을 위한 새로운 이민정책 방향을 함께 모색했다.

Held under the theme "Region-Led Immigration Policies and Building Sustainable Settlement Ecosystems," the conference featured eight academic divisions and thirty-two sessions. More than 250 scholars, researchers, and policymakers gathered to discuss innovative immigration strategies that address workforce shortages and enhance regional vitality.

강원특별자치도는 강원연구원과 공동으로 '강원형 지역 기반 이민정책 발전 방향' 세션을 운영했다. 이 자리에서는 강원의 지역적 특성을 반영한 정책 성과를 분석하고, 외국인 주민의 안정적인 정착과 지역사회 통합을 위한 실효성 있는 정책 과제를 논의했다.

In partnership with the Gangwon Research Institute, Gangwon State organized a special session titled "Future Directions for a Gangwon-Style Regional Immigration Policy." Participants evaluated existing policies while exploring practical measures to strengthen settlement support and promote social integration for foreign residents.

강원특별자치도는 이번 학술대회에서 제시된 연구 결과와 정책 제언을 면밀히 검토하여 향후 외국인 주민 지원 정책과 정주환경 개선 사업에 적극 반영할 계획이다.

The province plans to carefully review the research findings and policy recommendations presented during the conference and incorporate them into future initiatives aimed at improving settlement conditions and expanding support for foreign residents.

#김동준 지역소멸대응정책관은 "이번 학술대회는 중앙정부 중심의 이민정책을 넘어 지역의 특성과 여건을 반영한 새로운 정책 방향을 모색하는 뜻깊은 자리였다"며 "앞으로도 학계의 연구 성과와 현장의 다양한 의견을 적극 반영해 외국인 주민과 지역사회가 함께 성장하는 강원형 이민정책을 구체화해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

Kim Dong-jun, Director of the Regional Revitalization Policy Division, stated, "This conference provided a meaningful opportunity to move beyond centrally driven immigration policies and explore approaches tailored to regional characteristics and needs. Gangwon State will continue to integrate academic research and practical policy insights to develop a regional immigration model where foreign residents and local communities can grow together."
