등대의 아름다움을 한눈에… 묵호등대에서 등대사진전 개최

6월 29일부터 7월 5일까지 전국 등대사진 공모전 수상작 전시

동해지방해양수산청(청장 박정인)은 세계 등대의 날(매년 7월 1일)을 기념하는 「제3회 대한민국 등대주간」을 맞아 오는 6월 29일부터 7월 5일까지 묵호등대 해양문화공간에서 ‘등대 사진 전시회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

The Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries (Commissioner Park Jeong-in) announced that it will hold a Lighthouse Photo Exhibition at the Mukho Lighthouse Marine Culture Space from June 29 to July 5 in celebration of the 3rd Korea Lighthouse Week, marking World Lighthouse Day (July 1).

대한민국 등대주간은 선박의 안전을 책임지는 등대의 중요성과 해양문화·관광자원으로서의 가치를 널리 알리기 위해 매년 7월 첫째 주에 운영되는 행사로, 올해로 3회째를 맞이한다.

Korea Lighthouse Week is held every year during the first week of July to promote the importance of lighthouses in ensuring maritime safety while highlighting their value as cultural and tourism assets. This year marks the third edition of the nationwide event.

이번 전시회에서는 국립등대박물관의 협조를 받아 역대 등대사진 공모전 수상작 20점을 전시한다. 울릉도 태하등대와 주문진등대를 비롯해 전국 각지의 아름다운 등대와 자연경관이 어우러진 작품들을 통해 등대가 해양안전시설을 넘어 지역의 역사와 문화, 관광을 대표하는 상징임을 느낄 수 있도록 구성했다.

With support from the National Lighthouse Museum, the exhibition will feature 20 award-winning photographs from previous national lighthouse photography contests. Visitors will enjoy stunning images of iconic lighthouses, including Taeha Lighthouse on Ulleungdo Island and Jumunjin Lighthouse, showcasing how these landmarks harmonize with nature while representing maritime safety, local history, culture, and tourism.

전시회가 열리는 묵호등대는 1963년 처음 불을 밝힌 이후 동해안을 항해하는 선박의 안전을 지켜왔으며, 현재는 연간 30만 명 이상이 찾는 강원도의 대표적인 해양관광 명소로 자리매김하고 있다.

Mukho Lighthouse, the venue for the exhibition, has guided vessels safely along Korea's East Coast since it was first illuminated in 1963. Today, it has become one of Gangwon Province's most popular coastal attractions, welcoming more than 300,000 visitors every year.

동해지방해양수산청 관계자는 “앞으로도 등대가 지닌 해양문화의 가치와 관광자원으로서의 매력을 널리 알릴 수 있도록 다양한 홍보활동을 지속적으로 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

An official from the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries said, "We will continue promoting the cultural significance of lighthouses and their appeal as tourism resources through various outreach and promotional activities."
