광산 위에 피어난 보랏빛 기적

There was once a limestone quarry, marked by rugged cliffs and the traces of industry. One day, shades of lavender began to bloom across the landscape. Today, Mureung Byeolyucheonji has been reborn as one of Donghae’s most beloved destinations, filled with the fragrance of summer lavender.

지난 6월 13일부터 21일까지 열린 「2026 무릉별유천지 라벤더축제」는 전국에서 찾아온 관광객들의 발길로 가득했다. 본 축제 기간 약 8만 명, 사전축제를 포함하면 총 10만여 명이 이 특별한 공간을 찾으며 축제의 성공을 함께했다.

From June 13 to June 21, the 2026 Mureung Byeolyucheonji Lavender Festival welcomed visitors from across Korea. Around 80,000 guests attended during the main festival, and with the pre-festival events included, more than 100,000 people experienced this extraordinary destination.

청옥호와 금곡호의 에메랄드빛 물결, 만개한 라벤더 정원, 그리고 자연과 예술이 어우러진 공간은 방문객들에게 잊지 못할 풍경을 선물했다. 사람들은 꽃길을 걸으며 사진을 남기고, 가족과 함께 여유로운 여름의 하루를 즐겼다.

The emerald waters of Cheongok Lake and Geumgok Lake, together with fields of blooming lavender, created unforgettable scenery. Visitors wandered through floral pathways, captured precious memories, and spent peaceful summer days with family and friends.

올해 축제의 가장 큰 변화는 밤이었다. 처음 선보인 출렁다리와 화려한 레이저쇼는 무릉별유천지의 밤을 새로운 감동으로 물들였다. 보랏빛 꽃밭 위로 쏟아지는 빛과 음악은 마치 한 편의 프랑스 영화 같은 낭만을 선사했다.

The festival’s most remarkable transformation arrived after sunset. A newly opened suspension bridge and dazzling laser shows illuminated the night. Lights dancing above lavender fields created a romantic atmosphere reminiscent of a French summer film.

야간 방문객은 전체 관람객의 13%를 넘어섰다. 특히 평일 저녁에도 방문객이 꾸준히 늘어나며 무릉별유천지가 단순한 꽃축제를 넘어 머무르고 싶은 야간 관광지로 성장하고 있음을 보여주었다.

Nighttime visitors accounted for more than 13 percent of all attendees. Even on weekdays, evening attendance continued to rise, proving that Mureung Byeolyucheonji is evolving into a destination where visitors choose to stay and savor the night.

꿈놀이놀이터의 웃음소리, 버스킹 공연의 선율, 체험 프로그램의 즐거움은 축제를 더욱 풍성하게 만들었다. 낮에는 자연을 즐기고, 밤에는 빛과 음악을 만나는 체류형 관광의 모습이 자연스럽게 펼쳐졌다.

Children’s laughter from the play areas, melodies from busking performances, and hands-on experiences enriched the festival. Visitors embraced a new style of travel—immersing themselves in nature by day and enjoying lights and music by night.

무릉별유천지의 이야기는 단순한 관광지의 성공을 넘어선다. 산업유산이 자연과 문화, 사람을 품은 공간으로 다시 태어나며 지역의 새로운 미래를 보여주고 있기 때문이다.
