강릉단오제전수교육관, 2026년 공연예술 지역유통 지원사업 3건 선정

강릉시는 강릉단오제전수교육관이 문화체육관광부와 예술경영지원센터가 추진하는 「2026년 공연예술 지역유통 지원사업」 추가 공모에 공연 프로그램 3건이 선정되어 총 1억 3,200만 원의 국비를 확보했다고 밝혔다.

공연예술 지역유통 지원사업은 우수 공연예술 작품의 지역 유통을 활성화하고 지역 주민들의 문화 향유 기회를 확대하기 위해 추진되는 사업이다.

이번 공모 선정으로 강릉단오제전수교육관은 전통공연 중심의 자체 기획공연뿐만 아니라 뮤지컬 등 다양한 장르의 우수 공연을 유치하여 시민들에게 수준 높은 공연예술을 선보일 수 있게 됐다.

선정된 공연은 ▲9월 판소리 공연 「오버더떼창: 문전본풀이」 ▲10월 뮤지컬 「사랑은 비를 타고」 ▲11월 전통 사물놀이 공연 「신명의 꽃」 등 총 3개 작품이다.

 9월 공연 「오버더떼창: 문전본풀이」는 국가무형유산 판소리 이수자이자 배우·창작자인 박인혜가 제주도 무속신화를 판소리 형식으로 재해석해 선보이는 작품이다.

10월에는 1995년 초연 이후 30년 동안 꾸준한 사랑을 받아온 국민뮤지컬 「사랑은 비를 타고」가 무대에 오른다.

11월에는 사물놀이 창시자인 김덕수를 중심으로 한 전통 사물놀이 공연 「신명의 꽃」이 펼쳐져 역동적인 합주와 화려한 퍼포먼스를 선보일 예정이다.

강릉단오제전수교육관은 강릉단오제의 전승과 교육을 담당하는 지역 문화예술 거점시설로 공연장, 전시실, 교육공간 등을 갖추고 있다.

최근에는 전통문화 전승 기능과 더불어 시민 문화 향유를 위한 공연장 기능을 강화하며 지역 공공 공연장의 역할을 확대해 나가고 있다.

이번 사업 선정은 강릉단오제전수교육관이 무형유산 전승의 중심 공간을 넘어 다양한 공연예술을 제공하는 복합 문화공간으로 성장하고 있음을 보여주는 의미 있는 성과로 평가된다.

Secures KRW 132 Million in Government Funding to Expand Cultural Opportunities for Citizens

The City of Gangneung announced that the Gangneung Danoje Training Center has been selected for three programs under the additional call for the 2026 Performing Arts Regional Distribution Support Program, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service, securing a total of KRW 132 million in national funding.

The program aims to promote the regional distribution of outstanding performing arts productions and expand access to cultural experiences for local residents.

 Through this selection, the Gangneung Danoje Training Center will be able to present a wider range of high-quality performances, including self-produced traditional performances and renowned musical productions.

 The three selected performances include:

September: Over the Ttechang: Munjeon Bonpuri (Pansori Performance)

October: Singing in the Rain of Love (Musical)

November: Flower of Excitement (Traditional Samulnori Performance)

In September, Over the Ttechang: Munjeon Bonpuri will feature renowned pansori performer, actress, and creator Park In-hye, who reinterprets a traditional Jeju shamanic myth through the art of pansori.

In October, the beloved Korean musical Singing in the Rain of Love, which has been performed continuously since its premiere in 1995, will be presented to local audiences.

 In November, Flower of Excitement will showcase the dynamic rhythms and energetic choreography of traditional Korean percussion under the artistic direction of Kim Duk-soo, founder of Samulnori.

The Gangneung Danoje Training Center serves as a key cultural facility dedicated to preserving and educating future generations about the Gangneung Danoje Festival. The center includes a performance hall, exhibition spaces, and educational facilities.

In recent years, the center has expanded its role beyond heritage preservation by strengthening its function as a public performing arts venue and cultural hub for local residents.

The successful selection is viewed as a significant achievement, demonstrating the center’s evolution into a vibrant cultural space that offers both traditional heritage programs and diverse performing arts experiences.
