바다향 가득한 금·토의 밤… 동해 주말야시장, 올여름 가장 뜨거운 만남이 시작된다

먹거리·프리마켓 45개 부스 운영… 바다와 전통시장이 만나는 동해의 여름밤 명소 기대.

동해시가 여름 성수기 관광객 유치와 전통시장 활성화를 위해 운영하는 동쪽바다중앙시장 주말야시장의 참가자를 오는 6월 11일까지 모집한다.

문화관광형시장 육성사업의 일환으로 추진되는 이번 야시장은 야간 관광콘텐츠 확충과 지역상권 활성화를 위해 마련됐다.

야시장은 오는 7월 10일부터 8월 29일까지 매주 금요일과 토요일 오후 5시부터 9시까지 운영되며, 먹거리 부스 25개소와 프리마켓 20개소가 참여할 예정이다.

모집 대상은 동해시 관내 상인이며, 참가를 희망하는 경우 동해시 홈페이지 공고를 통해 신청 자격과 세부 내용을 확인할 수 있다.

특히 올해는 바다와 수산물, 해양관광 등 동해시만의 특색을 반영한 상품과 콘텐츠를 우대해 차별화된 먹거리 부스와 프리마켓을 운영할 계획이다.

지난해에도 주말야시장은 전통시장에 활력을 불어넣고 관광객들에게 색다른 야간 관광콘텐츠를 제공하며 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다.

“Friday & Saturday Nights Get More Exciting” Donghae City to Open Weekend Night Market in July; Vendors Wanted Until June 11

Donghae City is recruiting vendors for the Dongjjokbada Jungang Market Weekend Night Market, a seasonal event designed to attract summer tourists and revitalize traditional markets. Applications will be accepted through June 11.

The night market is part of the city's Cultural Tourism Market Development Project and aims to expand nighttime tourism attractions while boosting local commerce.

The market will operate every Friday and Saturday from July 10 to August 29, between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM, featuring 25 food stalls and 20 flea market booths.

Eligible applicants include merchants located within Donghae City. Interested vendors can review detailed qualifications and application procedures through the official city announcement.

This year, priority will be given to products and content that reflect Donghae’s unique identity, including themes related to the sea, seafood, and marine tourism, creating a distinctive lineup of food stalls and marketplace experiences.

Last year’s night market received strong support from residents and visitors alike, successfully revitalizing the traditional market and providing tourists with a memorable nighttime attraction.
