제29회 강원특별자치도 환경대상 시상식 개최

강원특별자치도와 강원일보사, KBS춘천방송총국은 세계 환경의 날을 맞아 6월 5일 오후 2시 강원연구원 리버티홀에서 수상자와 가족 등 150여 명이 참석한 가운데 「제29회 강원특별자치도 환경대상 시상식」을 개최했다.

강원특별자치도 환경대상은 청정 강원 환경 보전과 지속가능한 발전에 기여한 공로자를 발굴하고 환경보전의 중요성을 널리 알리기 위해 1998년 제정됐다.

올해로 29회를 맞은 환경대상은 지금까지 총 645명의 환경 유공자를 발굴·시상하며 지역 환경보전 문화 확산에 기여해 왔다.

올해 대상은 김종남 태백지속가능발전협의회 사무국장이 수상했다.

김 사무국장은 지난 20여 년간 시민 참여형 환경교육과 환경실천운동을 꾸준히 추진해 왔으며, 지역사회의 환경 의식 향상과 그린리더 전문 환경강사 양성 등 지속가능한 지역사회 기반 구축에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.

부문상은 총 4개 기관이 수상했다.

학술연구 및 기술개발 부문 : ㈜케이에코

환경보호운동 부문 : 한국수력원자력㈜ 한강수력본부

환경보전 생활실천 부문 : 강원인재원

환경교육 및 홍보활동 부문 : 한국수달연구센터

또한 환경보전을 위해 노력한 가족에게 수여하는 환경가족상은 도내 18개 시군에서 추천된 18가족(시군별 1가족)이 수상했다.

#윤승기 강원특별자치도 산림환경국장은 “환경보전과 지속가능한 발전을 위해 헌신해 주신 수상자 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 환경보전을 위한 작은 실천이 지역사회 전반으로 확산될 수 있도록 우수 공로자를 적극 발굴하고 지원해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

29th Gangwon State Environmental Awards Ceremony Held

Honoring Environmental Leaders Advancing Sustainability and Conservation

Gangwon State, together with Gangwon Ilbo and KBS Chuncheon Broadcasting Station, held the 29th Gangwon State Environmental Awards Ceremony on June 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Liberty Hall of the Gangwon Institute. Approximately 150 award recipients and family members attended the event in celebration of World Environment Day.

The Gangwon State Environmental Awards were established in 1998 to recognize individuals and organizations contributing to environmental conservation and sustainable development while promoting public awareness of environmental protection.

Now in its 29th year, the awards have honored a total of 645 environmental contributors, helping to foster a culture of environmental stewardship throughout the region.

This year's Grand Prize was awarded to Kim Jong-nam, Secretary General of the Taebaek Sustainable Development Council.

For more than two decades, Kim has led citizen-participation environmental education programs and environmental action campaigns, significantly enhancing environmental awareness within local communities and nurturing professional Green Leader environmental instructors.

Four organizations received category awards:

Academic Research & Technology Development: K-ECO Co., Ltd.

Environmental Protection Movement: Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Han River Hydropower Headquarters

Environmental Conservation & Sustainable Lifestyle Practice: Gangwon Talent Development Institute

Environmental Education & Public Awareness Activities: Korea Otter Research Center

In addition, the Environmental Family Award was presented to 18 families recommended by each of Gangwon State’s cities and counties in recognition of their commitment to environmental conservation.

Yoon Seung-gi, Director of the Forest and Environment Bureau of Gangwon State, said, “We sincerely appreciate all the recipients for their dedication to environmental protection and sustainable development. We will continue to identify and support outstanding contributors so that small environmental actions can spread throughout our communities.”
