## 망상해뜰책뜰도서관에 ‘여행 특화 자료 코너’ 조성

* 여행도서·에세이·가이드북 등 200여 권 비치

* 바닷가 작은도서관, 주민과 관광객이 함께 즐기는 여행 문화공간으로

동해시가 망상해변 인근에 위치한 망상해뜰책뜰 바닷가작은도서관에 ‘여행 특화 자료 코너’를 조성하고 여행 관련 도서 200여 권을 비치해 운영한다.

해뜰책뜰도서관은 행정안전부 공모사업을 통해 조성된 생활밀착형 작은도서관으로, 망상해변과 맞닿아 있어 책과 바다를 함께 즐길 수 있는 이색 문화공간으로 자리 잡고 있다. 주민들이 직접 운영에 참여하며 지역 문화공동체 공간으로 활용되고 있다.

이번 여행 특화 코너는 최근 증가하는 여행 수요와 여가 트렌드를 반영해 마련됐다. 국내·외 여행서와 여행 에세이, 가이드북은 물론 지역 문화와 역사, 미식 여행, 소도시 여행, 힐링 여행 등 다양한 분야의 여행 자료를 한곳에 모아 시민들이 일상 속에서 여행의 설렘을 느낄 수 있도록 구성했다.

특히 이번 사업은 망상해변을 찾는 관광객들에게도 색다른 휴식 공간이 될 것으로 기대된다. 해변을 거닐다 잠시 들러 여행책 한 권을 펼치고, 여행의 추억을 정리하거나 다음 여행을 계획할 수 있는 ‘바다 옆 여행서재’ 역할을 하게 된다.

동해시는 망상해뜰책뜰이 단순한 작은도서관을 넘어 주민과 관광객이 함께 머무는 문화 쉼터로 자리매김하고, 책을 통해 지역과 사람을 연결하는 생활문화 거점으로 성장할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

## Travel-Themed Collection Corner Opens at Mangsang Haetteul Chaektteul Library

Donghae City has established a special travel-themed collection corner at the Mangsang Haetteul Chaektteul Seaside Library near Mangsang Beach, featuring more than 200 travel-related books.

The library was created through a project supported by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and serves as a community-based neighborhood library. Located right beside Mangsang Beach, it offers a unique cultural experience where visitors can enjoy both books and the sea. Local residents actively participate in its operation, making it a valuable community cultural space.

The newly created travel collection reflects growing travel demand and changing leisure trends. The collection includes domestic and international travel books, travel essays, guidebooks, and materials covering local culture and history, culinary journeys, small-town travel, and wellness tourism. The goal is to inspire citizens with the excitement of travel in their everyday lives.

The project is also expected to provide a unique relaxation space for tourists visiting Mangsang Beach. Visitors can stop by during a seaside walk, read a travel book, reflect on past journeys, or plan their next adventure in what can be described as a “travel library by the sea.”

Donghae City expects the Mangsang Haetteul Chaektteul Library to grow beyond a simple neighborhood library into a cultural retreat where residents and tourists can gather, while also serving as a community hub that connects people and places through books.
