동해해수청, ‘2026년도 사설항로표지 관계자 간담회’ 개최

동해지방해양수산청(청장 김채균)은 해양사고 예방과 안전한 해상교통환경 조성을 위해 사설항로표지 소유자 및 위탁관리사 관계자들을 대상으로 ‘2026년도 사설항로표지 관계자 간담회’를 5월 26일 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 간담회에서는 사설항로표지 관련 법령 안내와 함께 2026년도 상반기 관리실태 지도·점검 결과를 공유하고, 항로표지 분야 이해관계자들의 규제개선 의견과 건의사항 등을 수렴해 향후 사설항로표지 관리방안에 반영할 계획이다.

현재 동해해수청 관내에는 동해시를 비롯한 32개 기관(사)과 9개 항로표지 위탁관리업체가 교량·방파제 등 해양시설물 보호와 해양안전사고 예방을 위해 해상공사구역 및 항로에 설치된 사설항로표지 137기를 관리·운영하고 있다.

사설항로표지란 자기의 사업 또는 업무에 사용하기 위해 해양수산부장관의 허가를 받아 설치하는 항로표지(등대·등부표 등)를 의미한다.

이와 함께 이날 간담회에서는 안전한 업무환경 조성을 위한 중대재해 예방교육과 청렴의식 강화를 위한 청렴교육도 병행 실시됐다.

동해지방해양수산청 관계자는 “앞으로도 안전한 해상교통환경 조성을 위해 사설항로표지 관계자들과 지속적으로 소통하고, 항로표지의 효율적인 관리·운영을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries Holds 2026 Private Aids to Navigation Stakeholders Meeting

Communication Expanded for Safer Maritime Traffic and Efficient Navigation Aid Management

The Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, headed by Commissioner Kim Chae-gyun, announced on May 26 that it held a stakeholders’ meeting for private aids to navigation in order to prevent maritime accidents and create a safer maritime traffic environment.

During the meeting, participants shared updates on relevant regulations and the results of the first-half 2026 inspection and management review of private navigation aids. The office also collected opinions and suggestions from stakeholders regarding regulatory improvements and operational issues, which will be reflected in future management policies.

Currently, within the jurisdiction of the Donghae Regional Office, 32 organizations — including the city of Donghae — and nine entrusted navigation aid management companies operate and maintain 137 private aids to navigation installed along maritime construction zones and sea routes to protect marine facilities such as bridges and breakwaters and to prevent maritime safety accidents.

Private aids to navigation refer to navigation facilities such as lighthouses and light buoys that are installed with permission from the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries for use in private business or operational activities.

The meeting also included industrial accident prevention education aimed at improving workplace safety, along with integrity and anti-corruption training to strengthen ethical awareness among participants.

An official from the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries stated, “We will continue to communicate closely with private navigation aid stakeholders to ensure a safe maritime traffic environment and enhance the efficient management and operation of navigation aids.”
