“동해시 분토천 정비 완료… 여름철 침수 공포 줄이고 시민 안전 높였다”

동해시, 분토천 소하천 정비 마무리… 침수 예방 기대

동해시가 효가동 210-2번지 일원 분토천 재해취약 구간에 대한 소하천 정비공사를 완료하고 재해 예방과 주민 안전 강화에 나섰다.

 이번 사업은 지난 5월 행정안전부 재난안전특별교부세 지원사업으로 선정돼 추진된 것으로, 총사업비 8억 8천만원이 투입됐다.

 시는 재해위험이 우려되던 분토천 일원에 식생 옹벽블록(L=199m), 전석쌓기(L=110m), 목교(인도교) 1개소 설치 등 소하천 정비를 완료했다.

 이번 정비를 통해 집중호우 시 하천 범람 우려가 컸던 구간의 안전성을 높이고, 하천 유지관리 기반과 주민 보행환경도 함께 개선했다.

 특히 친환경 식생 옹벽과 전석쌓기를 적용해 하천 기능 회복과 경관 개선 효과를 높였으며, 목교 설치로 주민 이동 편의성과 접근성 개선 기반도 마련했다.

 시는 이번 사업 완료로 여름철 태풍과 집중호우에 따른 침수 피해 예방은 물론 주민 생활권 안전 확보에 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 아울러 시는 우기철 재해 예방을 위해 관내 소하천 28개소를 대상으로 하도 준설과 예초 공사도 지속 추진하는 등 재해 대응력 강화에 힘쓰고 있다.

Donghae City Completes Bunto Stream Maintenance Project… Flood Prevention Expected

Donghae has completed a small-stream maintenance project in the disaster-prone section of Bunto Stream near Hyoga-dong 210-2, aiming to strengthen disaster prevention and improve public safety.

 The project was selected in May for support through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Special Disaster and Safety Grant program, with a total budget of KRW 880 million invested.

 The city completed various stream improvement works in the Bunto Stream area, including:

Eco-friendly vegetated retaining wall blocks (L=199m)

Natural stone embankment construction (L=110m)

Installation of one wooden pedestrian bridge

Through the project, the city improved the safety of sections previously vulnerable to river overflow during heavy rainfall, while also enhancing stream maintenance infrastructure and pedestrian environments for residents.

 In particular, the use of eco-friendly vegetated retaining walls and natural stone structures helped restore stream functions and improve the surrounding landscape. The newly installed wooden bridge also improved pedestrian convenience and accessibility.

 The city expects the project to help prevent flood damage caused by summer typhoons and heavy rain, while strengthening safety within residential areas.

 In addition, Donghae City continues to enhance disaster response capabilities by carrying out dredging and vegetation-clearing work on 28 small streams across the city during the rainy season.
