As you walk along the coast, there comes a moment when your steps naturally slow down.

At the second dredged-soil site near Mukho Port, a once-unused harbor space has quietly transformed into a seasonal landscape filled with the colors of early summer.

Silver-green barley sways gently like reeds in the wind, while bright yellow coreopsis blooms beside vivid red poppies.

Together with the blue East Sea and the quiet harbor scenery, the flower fields create a view that feels almost like a watercolor painting.

The beginning of this place was not extraordinary.

It was simply an unused site where dredged soil from harbor operations had been stored.

But since 2023, the city of Donghae has gradually planted flowers here.

Pink muhly grass, cosmos, marigolds, and verbena slowly softened the once-rough industrial landscape into a warm and welcoming public space.

What makes this place beautiful is not merely the flowers.

It is the way the sea, the harbor, the memories of old Mukho, and the lives of local residents all overlap together.

Connected to nearby coastal spots and the old harbor scenery, this place feels less like a tourist attraction and more like a quiet moment of rest.

Now, people come here to take photos,

to walk slowly,

and simply gaze at the sea for a while.

Sometimes, a city is remembered not for massive development,

but for a single gentle landscape like this.
