Donghae Dreambit Maru Library Gives Wings to Children’s Imagination

강원 동해의 한 공공도서관이 조용한 독서 공간을 넘어, 미래세대의 상상력과 창의성을 깨우는 ‘작은 비행장’으로 변신하고 있다.

국립어린이청소년도서관이 주최하는 「2026 미꿈소 전국 확산 사업」에 강원특별자치도에서 유일하게 선정된 동해꿈빛마루도서관이 어린이 대상 창작 프로그램 ‘미꿈소 드론 플레이어’를 운영하며 참가자를 모집한다.

A public library in Donghae, Gangwon, is transforming itself from a quiet reading space into a “small runway” where children’s imagination and creativity can take flight.

Selected as the only participating library in Gangwon State for the 2026 “Mikkumso National Expansion Project” hosted by the National Library for Children and Young Adults, Donghae Dreambit Maru Library has opened registration for its creative educational program, “Mikkumso Drone Player.”

‘미꿈소(미래꿈희망창작소)’는 단순한 체험 프로그램이 아니다.

책 읽기와 메이커 교육, 디지털 기술과 창의적 사고를 연결해 아이들이 스스로 질문하고 만들고 도전하도록 이끄는 미래형 교육 플랫폼이다. 이번 프로그램 역시 드론이라는 첨단 기술을 매개로 어린이들이 과학적 호기심과 협업 능력, 문제 해결력을 자연스럽게 키울 수 있도록 구성됐다.

“Mikkumso,” short for “Future Dream Hope Creative Lab,” is more than just an activity program.

It is a future-oriented educational platform that combines reading, maker education, digital technology, and creative thinking—encouraging children to question, create, and explore on their own. Through drone technology, participants will naturally develop scientific curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

프로그램 참가 학생들은 공드론과 전문 강사의 지도를 통해 드론의 기본 원리와 조작법을 배우고, 미션 수행형 체험 활동에도 참여하게 된다.

하늘을 나는 작은 드론은 아이들에게 단순한 장난감이 아니라, 미래 산업과 기술문명을 향한 첫 번째 호기심의 문이 된다.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of drone technology and flight operation with the help of professional instructors and educational drones.

For children, these flying machines are more than toys—they become the first gateway into the world of future industries and advanced technology.

행사는 오는 6월 13일 오후 1시와 오후 3시, 총 2회차로 운영되며 초등학교 4~6학년 학생 8명을 대상으로 진행된다.

신청은 5월 19일부터 25일까지 동해시립도서관 홈페이지에서 선착순으로 접수한다.

The program will take place on June 13 in two sessions—1 PM and 3 PM—and is open to eight students in grades 4 through 6.

Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Donghae City Library website from May 19 to May 25.

이번 사업은 단순히 드론 교육을 넘어, 공공도서관이 미래교육의 플랫폼으로 진화하고 있다는 점에서 더욱 의미가 깊다.

책과 사람이 만나던 공간에서 이제는 기술과 창의, 그리고 미래의 꿈이 함께 자라고 있다.

Beyond drone education itself, the project symbolizes the evolving role of public libraries as platforms for future learning.

In a place once centered solely on books and readers, technology, creativity, and the dreams of the future are now growing together.
