“어서오십시오, 동해시입니다” 장애인체전 현장 곳곳에 번지는 따뜻한 환대

제19회 강원특별자치도 장애인체육대회가 동해시 일원에서 열리고 있는 가운데, 도시 곳곳에서 선수단과 가족들을 향한 따뜻한 배려와 응원이 이어지며 감동의 체전 분위기를 만들어가고 있다.

As the 19th Gangwon State Para Sports Festival takes place throughout Donghae, heartfelt hospitality and warm encouragement from local citizens are creating an inspiring atmosphere for athletes and their families.

동해시는 선수단과 가족들이 머무는 숙소마다 환영 현수막을 내걸고, 경기장에는 생수와 빵, 간식 등을 준비해 참가 선수들이 편안한 환경 속에서 경기에 집중할 수 있도록 세심한 지원을 이어가고 있다.

The city has displayed welcome banners at accommodations hosting athletes and their families, while also providing bottled water, bread, and snacks at venues so competitors can focus on their events in comfort and peace.

특히 경기장 곳곳에서는 자원봉사자들과 시민 응원단이 경기 안내와 이동 지원, 응원 활동을 맡으며 선수단과 함께 호흡하고 있다. 단순한 스포츠 대회를 넘어, 모두가 함께 만들어가는 따뜻한 공동체 축제의 모습이 펼쳐지고 있다.

At venues across the city, volunteers and cheering supporters are assisting with directions, mobility support, and enthusiastic encouragement. Beyond being a sports event, the festival is becoming a heartfelt community celebration created together by citizens and athletes alike.

일부 경기장에서는 학생들과 시민들이 직접 만든 손팻말과 응원 문구로 선수들을 맞이하며 장애와 비장애의 경계를 넘어서는 감동을 전하고 있다. 밝은 미소와 박수는 선수들에게 큰 힘이 되고 있다.

At some venues, students and local residents are welcoming athletes with handmade signs and heartfelt messages of support, delivering a moving sense of unity that transcends disability and non-disability. Their smiles and applause are becoming a powerful source of encouragement for the athletes.

선수단 가족과 관람객들의 반응도 따뜻하다. 한 선수 가족은 “숙소에 걸린 환영 현수막부터 경기장에서의 안내와 응원까지 도시 전체가 진심으로 반겨주는 느낌이었다”며 “선수들도 큰 용기와 힘을 얻고 있다”고 전했다.

Families and spectators have also expressed deep appreciation. One athlete’s family shared, “From the welcome banners at the accommodations to the guidance and cheering at the venues, it truly felt as though the entire city was embracing us with sincerity. The athletes are gaining tremendous courage and strength.”

동해시는 이번 장애인체전을 단순한 경쟁의 무대가 아닌, 시민과 도시가 함께 선수들을 품어 안는 ‘배려와 환대의 체전’으로 만들어가겠다는 뜻을 전했다.

Donghae City emphasized that this Para Sports Festival is not merely a competition, but a “festival of care and hospitality” where the entire city embraces the athletes together.

동해시 관계자는 “선수들의 도전만큼이나 자원봉사자와 시민들의 따뜻한 응원이 이번 대회의 큰 힘이 되고 있다”며 “마지막 순간까지 모두가 안전하고 행복한 체전을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

A city official stated, “Just as the athletes’ challenges inspire us, the warm support from volunteers and citizens is also becoming a major strength of this event. We will do our utmost to ensure a safe, welcoming, and memorable festival until the very end.”

한편, 제19회 강원특별자치도 장애인체육대회는 동해시 일원에서 종목별 경기가 이어지고 있으며, 시민들의 응원과 참여 속에 화합과 공감의 스포츠 축제로 이어지고 있다.
