동해시 농업기술센터 직원들이 초여름 햇살 아래 복숭아 농가를 찾아 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 바쁜 영농철마다 반복되는 인력난 속에서, 이들의 손길은 단순한 봉사를 넘어 농촌의 숨결을 함께 나누는 따뜻한 동행이 되었다.

Staff members from the Donghae Agricultural Technology Center visited a local peach farm under the early summer sun, sharing sweat and effort with farmers. Amid the annual labor shortages during the busy farming season, their support became more than volunteer work—it was a heartfelt act of standing alongside the rural community.

지난 5월 13일 진행된 이번 일손돕기 활동에서는 고품질 복숭아 생산을 위한 ‘적과 작업’이 이뤄졌다. 열매를 솎아내는 적과 작업은 짧은 기간 많은 인력이 필요한 대표적인 농작업으로 꼽힌다.

 During the volunteer activity held on May 13, staff members helped with “fruit thinning,” an essential process for producing high-quality peaches. This labor-intensive task requires many hands within a short period and is considered one of the most demanding seasonal farm jobs.

특히 해당 농가는 어린이집 과수 체험과 택배 직거래 판매 등을 통해 지역사회와 활발히 소통하고 있는 곳으로, 현장에서는 농업인과 직원들이 함께 웃고 이야기하며 따뜻한 시간을 나눴다.

The farm is especially known for engaging with the local community through orchard experience programs for children and direct parcel sales. At the site, farmers and staff members shared smiles and conversations, creating a warm and meaningful atmosphere together.

동해시가 느린 학습자 청소년과 가족을 위한 따뜻한 공감의 시간을 마련했다. 부모가 아이의 속도를 이해하고 기다려주는 힘이 결국 아이의 미래를 밝히는 가장 큰 응원이 된다는 메시지를 전하기 위해서다.

Donghae City has prepared a heartfelt program for adolescents with learning difficulties and their families. The initiative carries a message that a parent’s understanding and patience can become the greatest support in a child’s journey toward growth.

오는 5월 16일 부곡동 청소년상담복지센터 북카페에서 열리는 부모교육 프로그램 ‘언제나 봄봄’은 느린 학습자 청소년 지원사업의 일환으로 진행된다.

 The parent education program titled “Always Springtime” will be held on May 16 at the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center Book Café in Bugok-dong as part of the city’s support project for slow learners.

이번 교육에서는 부모 스스로의 감정과 양육 스트레스를 돌아보고, 아이의 성장 속도를 존중하는 방법과 긍정적인 관계 형성 방안 등을 함께 나누게 된다.

 The program will encourage parents to reflect on their own emotions and parenting stress while learning ways to respect their children’s pace of growth and build positive relationships.

3. 빗물받이 속 작은 실천, 여름 안전을 지키다

Small Actions in Storm Drains, Protecting Summer Safety

여름 장마를 앞둔 북삼동 거리에서 지역자율방재단원들의 분주한 움직임이 이어졌다. 주민들이 안심하고 생활할 수 있도록 보이지 않는 곳까지 살피는 손길이었다.

Ahead of the summer rainy season, members of the Buksam-dong Volunteer Disaster Prevention Team busily worked through local streets. Their efforts reached even the unseen corners to ensure residents could live safely and without worry.

방재단은 지난 14일 북삼동 행정복지센터 일대와 상가 밀집지역, 통학로 등을 중심으로 빗물받이 준설작업을 실시했다.

 On May 14, the team carried out storm drain cleaning operations around the Buksam-dong Administrative Welfare Center, commercial districts, and school routes.

단원들은 빗물받이에 쌓인 흙과 낙엽, 폐비닐 등을 제거하며 침수 예방 활동에 힘을 보탰다. 특히 과거 침수 민원이 있었던 지역을 집중 정비해 피해 예방 효과를 높였다.

 Members removed soil, fallen leaves, and waste vinyl accumulated in drains to help prevent flooding. Areas that previously experienced flood complaints received special attention to minimize future damage.

4. 금융사기 막고 마음까지 나눈 하루

A Day of Preventing Financial Fraud and Sharing Warm Hearts

신한은행 동해지점이 묵호노인종합복지관 어르신들을 찾아 금융사기 예방교육과 후원금 전달을 진행하며 지역사회에 따뜻한 온기를 전했다.

Shinhan Bank’s Donghae Branch visited Mukho Senior Welfare Center to provide financial fraud prevention education and deliver a donation, sharing warmth and care with the local community.

이번 교육은 최근 급증하는 보이스피싱과 금융사기 피해를 예방하기 위해 마련됐으며, 원현진 지점장이 직접 강사로 나서 실제 사례 중심의 설명을 진행했다.

 The program was organized in response to the recent rise in voice phishing and financial fraud cases. Branch Manager Won Hyun-jin personally led the session, explaining real-life cases and practical prevention methods.

어르신들은 의심 전화 대응 방법과 신고 절차 등을 배우며 금융피해 예방의 중요성을 다시 한번 되새기는 시간을 가졌다.

 Senior participants learned how to respond to suspicious calls and report scams, taking time to reflect on the importance of protecting themselves from financial crimes.

이어 #신한은행 동해지점은 지역 어르신 지원을 위해 후원금 100만 원을 전달했으며, 해당 기금은 취약계층 어르신 지원과 사례관리 사업에 활용될 예정이다.

 The bank also donated one million won to support local seniors, with the funds planned for welfare case management and assistance programs for vulnerable elderly residents.
