동해시가 도민체전을 앞두고 교통과 위생 등 시민과 방문객이 직접 체감하는 생활환경 개선에 속도를 내고 있다.

Ahead of the Provincial Sports Festival, Donghae City is accelerating improvements to public transportation and sanitation facilities that citizens and visitors directly experience.

시는 단순한 시설 점검을 넘어, 도시의 첫인상과 이용 편의성을 높이기 위한 현장 중심 환경정비에 집중하고 있다.

 The city is focusing not only on facility inspections but also on practical on-site improvements aimed at enhancing the city’s first impression and overall convenience.

이번 현장점검에는 심규언 동해시장을 비롯한 관계부서가 참여해 주요 경기장과 행사장 일원을 직접 순찰하며 시설 상태와 운영 상황을 점검했다.

 During the inspection, Donghae Mayor Shim Gyu-eon and related departments personally toured major stadiums and event venues to review facility conditions and operational readiness.

점검 대상은 환영 아치탑과 경기장 시설은 물론 관람객 동선, 주차·교통 체계, 안전관리, 편의시설 전반에 이르렀다.

 The inspection covered welcome arches, stadium facilities, visitor circulation routes, parking and traffic systems, safety management, and various convenience facilities.

시는 실제 대회 상황을 가정한 운영 점검도 병행하며 혼잡 예상 구간과 미비 사항을 현장에서 즉시 보완하는 데 주력했다.

 The city also conducted operational simulations based on actual competition scenarios, focusing on immediately correcting congestion risks and other shortcomings on-site.

특히 시민과 방문객이 가장 먼저 접하는 대중교통 환경 개선에 집중하고 있다. 밀폐형·지붕형 버스승강장 204개소를 대상으로 물청소와 오염물 제거 작업을 실시하고 있다.

 Special attention is being given to improving public transportation environments, which form visitors’ first impressions of the city. Water cleaning and stain removal are being carried out at 204 enclosed and roof-type bus shelters.

또한 노후 승강장 6개소는 교체를 추진해 안전성과 도시 미관을 동시에 강화할 계획이다.

 In addition, six aging bus shelters are scheduled for replacement to improve both safety and urban aesthetics.

웰빙레포츠타운 일대에는 택시 임시승강장을 운영해 체전 기간 교통 접근성과 이동 편의를 높인다.

 Temporary taxi stands will also be operated around the Well-being Leisure Sports Town to improve transportation accessibility during the festival.

경기장 내 위생환경 관리도 강화된다. 시는 13개 경기장 화장실에 대해 집중 청소를 실시하고, 관람객 증가에 대비해 이동식 화장실 9개소를 추가 운영할 예정이다.

 Sanitation management inside stadiums is also being strengthened. The city plans intensive restroom cleaning at 13 sports venues and will install nine additional portable toilets to accommodate increased visitor numbers.

동해시는 이번 체전에 18개 시·군 선수단과 방문객이 대거 찾을 것으로 예상하고 있으며, 안전·교통·환경·자원봉사 등 전 분야 대응체계를 유기적으로 점검하고 있다.

 Donghae City expects large numbers of athletes and visitors from 18 cities and counties to attend the festival and is conducting integrated inspections across safety, transportation, environment, and volunteer support systems.

#심규언 동해시장은 “이번 점검은 보여주기식이 아니라 실제 이용 환경을 개선하는 데 초점을 맞췄다”며 “동해를 찾는 모든 분들이 쾌적하고 편안하게 머무를 수 있도록 마지막까지 현장을 꼼꼼히 챙기겠다”고 말했다.

 Mayor Shim Gyu-eon stated, “This inspection is not for show, but focused on improving the actual user environment,” adding, “We will continue to carefully manage every detail so that everyone visiting Donghae can stay comfortably and pleasantly.”
