강원문화재단, 도내 예술 거점 공간 운영 본격화

강원문화재단(대표이사 신현상)은 2026년 예술공간활성화지원사업을 통해 도내 14개 우수 공간을 선정했다고 밝혔다.

The Gangwon Cultural Foundation (CEO: Shin Hyun-sang) announced that it has selected 14 outstanding arts spaces across the province through the 2026 Arts Space Activation Support Project.

올해 선정된 공간은 춘천, 원주, 화천, 속초 지역의 소극장 11개소와 춘천, 강릉 지역의 예술공간 3개소로, 지역 문화예술 거점 공간으로서 역할을 수행할 예정이다.

The selected venues include 11 small theaters located in Chuncheon, Wonju, Hwacheon, and Sokcho, along with three arts spaces in Chuncheon and Gangneung. These venues are expected to serve as key cultural and artistic hubs for local communities.

소극장에서는 연간 20회 이상의 공연이 운영되며, 예술공간에서는 지역 예술가들의 창작 활동과 결과 발표(전시·공연)가 진행된다. 특히, 예술공간에서는 대중 참여 활동과 중간 시연회 등을 통해 창작 과정을 지역주민이 직접 접할 수 있다.

More than 20 performances per year will be held at the selected small theaters, while the arts spaces will support local artists’ creative activities and showcase their works through exhibitions and performances. In particular, residents will have opportunities to directly experience the creative process through public participation programs and mid-project presentations.

Shin Hyun-sang, CEO of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation, stated, “Last year’s project led to the discovery of 10 arts spaces that attracted approximately 23,000 visitors from across the province,” adding, “We hope this year’s initiative will further expand opportunities for residents to enjoy culture and the arts through regional arts spaces.”

재단은 전문가 컨설팅 등을 통해 공간별 운영 역량 강화도 함께 진행할 계획이며, 하반기에는 도내 예술공간 정보를 한 곳에서 확인할 수 있는 문화예술공간 DB를 구축할 예정이다. (☎문의: 예술지원팀 033-240-1349)

The foundation also plans to strengthen operational capabilities for each space through expert consulting and management support. In the second half of the year, it will establish a cultural arts space database that allows the public to access information on arts venues across the province in one integrated platform.
