Donghae City Facilities Management Corporation Earns Survival Swimming Safety Certification for 4 Consecutive Years

동해시시설관리공단이 운영하는 근로자종합복지회관 수영장이 (사)대한생존수영협회로부터 ‘생존수영 교육기관 안전인증’을 획득하며 4년 연속 안전 인증을 유지했다.

The swimming pool at the Workers’ Welfare Center, operated by the Donghae City Facilities Management Corporation, has received the “Survival Swimming Education Institution Safety Certification” from the Korea Survival Swimming Association, maintaining the certification for four consecutive years.

생존수영 교육기관 안전인증제는 수영장 내 안전용품 구비 여부를 비롯해 안전관리 수준, 교육 적합성, 위생 및 청결 상태 등 운영 전반의 적정성을 종합적으로 평가하는 제도다. 공단은 2022년 첫 인증 이후 2026년까지 매년 재인증을 이어오며 철저한 안전관리 체계를 지속적으로 입증해 왔다.

 The Survival Swimming Education Institution Safety Certification is a system that comprehensively evaluates operational standards including the availability of safety equipment, safety management systems, educational suitability, hygiene, and cleanliness. Since receiving its first certification in 2022, the corporation has successfully renewed the certification every year through 2026, continuously proving its rigorous safety management system.

공단은 생존수영 교육의 전문성을 강화하기 위해 수영강사들의 관련 자격 취득을 적극 지원하고 있으며, 단순한 수영 교육을 넘어 위기 대응 능력을 키우는 실질적인 안전교육기관으로서 역할을 확대하고 있다.

 To strengthen the professionalism of survival swimming education, the corporation has actively supported instructors in obtaining relevant certifications. It is also expanding its role beyond basic swimming lessons to become a practical safety education institution that fosters emergency response capabilities.

생존수영 프로그램 운영 이후 현재까지 동해시 관내 7개 초등학교, 총 936명의 학생이 교육에 참여했다. 공단은 오는 7월 초등학생 대상 교육을 추가 운영할 예정이며, 하반기에는 일반 성인을 대상으로 한 생존수영 교실도 개설할 계획이다.

 Since the launch of the survival swimming program, a total of 936 students from seven elementary schools in Donghae have participated in the training. The corporation plans to continue the program for elementary students in July and expand the classes to adults in the second half of the year.

또한 국립수산과학원 등 관계기관과 협력해 선박 근무자와 해양 선원을 대상으로 해상 추락 등 위기 상황 대응 교육도 준비하고 있다.

 In addition, the corporation is preparing emergency response training programs for ship workers and maritime crew members, including 대응 training for overboard accidents, in cooperation with organizations such as the National Institute of Fisheries Science.

#이용빈 이사장은 “이번 4년 연속 재인증은 공단의 지속적인 안전관리 노력과 시민들의 관심이 함께 만든 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 공신력 있는 기관의 인증을 통해 빈틈없는 교육환경을 유지하고, 생존수영 교육기관으로서 역할과 책임을 충실히 수행해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

 Chairman Lee Yong-bin stated, “This fourth consecutive recertification is a meaningful achievement created through the corporation’s continuous safety management efforts and the 관심 of citizens,” adding, “We will continue to maintain a flawless educational environment through certifications from trusted institutions and faithfully fulfill our role and responsibilities as a survival swimming education institution.”
