“구름 위를 걷는 기적”… 삼척 이사부독도기념관, 5월 ‘풍선 판타지’ 터졌다

 삼척시 이사부독도기념관이 가정의 달 5월을 맞아 꽃과 빛, 풍선이 어우러진 특별한 전시 이벤트로 방문객들을 맞이한다.

(재)삼척관광문화재단은 2026년 봄 시즌 기획전 「봄 애[愛] 봄」과 연계한 특별 전시 이벤트 「5월愛 - 날아오르다」를 오는 5월 5일부터 5월 10일까지 운영한다고 밝혔다. 기획전 전시는 6월 12일까지 이어진다.

이번 이벤트는 꽃과 빛이 조화를 이루는 기존 전시에 풍선 연출을 더해, 보다 감각적이고 환상적인 공간을 조성하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

특히 기념관 C관 복도 천장에는 실버, 샴페인 골드, 화이트 컬러의 헬륨 풍선 수백 개가 채워져 마치 하늘로 날아오르는 듯한 장관을 연출한다. 방문객들은 구름 위를 걷는 듯한 몽환적인 분위기 속에서 특별한 체험을 즐길 수 있다.

또한 전시 공간과 자연스럽게 연결된 포토존을 마련해 가족 단위 관람객과 어린이들이 함께 즐길 수 있는 참여형 콘텐츠도 강화했다.

이번 행사는 가정의 달을 맞아 가족, 어린이, 관광객 등 다양한 방문객들이 동심과 설렘을 느낄 수 있도록 기획됐으며, 기존 전시 공간을 복도까지 확장해 기념관의 복합문화 기능을 한층 강화할 것으로 기대된다.

기념관은 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 운영되며, 입장은 오후 5시 10분까지 가능하다. 매주 월요일은 휴관이다.

특히 이번 전시는 야간에도 관람이 가능하도록 밤 10시까지 조명이 유지돼, 낮에는 가족 체험 공간으로, 밤에는 연인과 관광객을 위한 로맨틱한 야경 명소로 주목받을 전망이다.

재단 관계자는 “꽃과 빛, 풍선이 어우러진 공간에서 모든 세대가 즐거움과 동심을 느끼길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 시민과 관광객이 함께 즐길 수 있는 다양한 전시와 프로그램을 지속적으로 선보이겠다”고 말했다.

“Samcheok in May, Colored with Flowers, Lights, and Balloons”

Special Event at the Isabu Dokdo Memorial Hall

The Isabu Dokdo Memorial Hall in Samcheok is welcoming visitors this May with a special exhibition event filled with flowers, lights, and balloons.

The Samcheok Tourism & Culture Foundation announced that it will host a special exhibition event titled “May Love – Soaring Up,” in connection with the 2026 spring exhibition “Spring Love Spring,” from May 5 to May 10. The main exhibition will run until June 12.

This event enhances the existing floral and light-themed exhibition by incorporating balloon installations, creating a more immersive and visually captivating environment.

Notably, the ceiling of Corridor C is filled with hundreds of helium balloons in silver, champagne gold, and white tones, forming a breathtaking scene that resembles balloons floating into the sky. Visitors can enjoy a dreamy atmosphere as if walking on clouds.

In addition, photo zones seamlessly connected to the exhibition space have been set up, providing interactive experiences for families and children.

Designed for the Family Month of May, the event aims to offer joy and nostalgia to visitors of all ages, including families, children, and tourists. By expanding the exhibition into corridor spaces, the memorial hall further strengthens its role as a complex cultural venue.

The memorial hall operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last admission at 5:10 PM, and is closed on Mondays.

For this special exhibition, lighting will be extended until 10:00 PM, allowing visitors to enjoy the display even at night. It is expected to become a popular destination for family visits during the day and a romantic night attraction for couples and tourists.

A foundation official stated, “We hope visitors of all ages can experience joy and a sense of wonder in this space filled with flowers, lights, and balloons,” adding, “We will continue to offer diverse exhibitions and programs that everyone can enjoy together.”
