강원특별자치도를 대표하는 클래식 음악 축제, 평창대관령음악제가 올해로 23회를 맞는다. 음악제는 오는 7월 23일부터 8월 2일까지 11일간 평창 대관령과 알펜시아 일대에서 펼쳐지며, 예술의 깊이와 시대의 울림을 동시에 담아낼 예정이다.

The Great Mountains International Music Festival & School, one of Korea’s premier classical music festivals, celebrates its 23rd edition this year. The festival will take place from July 23 to August 2 over 11 days in Daegwallyeong and Alpensia, Pyeongchang, blending artistic depth with the spirit of the times.

■ ‘계승’에서 ‘혁신’으로 이어지는 음악의 흐름

From “Legacy” to “Innovation” – The Flow of Music

올해 주제는 ‘Legacy and Innovation(계승과 혁신)’이다. 예술감독 양성원은 “음악은 과거의 유산에 머무르지 않고, 현재를 살아 숨 쉬며 새로운 창작으로 이어진다”며, 전통과 현대가 교차하는 예술의 본질을 조명하고자 한다고 밝혔다.

This year’s theme is “Legacy and Innovation.” Artistic Director Yang Sung-won emphasized that music does not remain a relic of the past, but lives in the present and evolves into new creations, highlighting the essence of art where tradition and modernity intersect.

■ 클래식의 깊이와 확장… 다채로운 프로그램 구성

이번 음악제는 총 19회의 콘서트를 중심으로, 강원 전역을 찾아가는 음악회 10회, 가족음악회 5회, 그리고 대관령아카데미의 멘토십 프로그램과 마스터클래스 등 풍성한 프로그램으로 구성된다.

Centered around 19 concerts, the festival also includes 10 outreach concerts across Gangwon Province, 5 family concerts, and the Daegwallyeong Academy’s mentorship and masterclass programs, offering a rich and diverse experience.

또한 ‘아티스트와의 커피’, 와인 아카데미, 석학 특강 등 관객과 예술가가 가까이 호흡하는 특별 프로그램도 마련되어 있다.

Special programs such as “Coffee with Artists,” wine academies, and lectures by renowned scholars will also bring audiences closer to the artists.

■ 세계 정상급 아티스트와 차세대 음악가의 만남

A Meeting of World-Class Artists and Rising Stars

피아니스트 김대진과 선우예권, 지휘자 한스 그라프, 바이올리니스트 사와 카즈키, 첼리스트 막시밀리안 호르눙 등 세계 정상급 아티스트들이 무대를 빛낸다.

World-renowned artists including pianists Kim Dae-jin and Sunwoo Yekwon, conductor Hans Graf, violinist Kazuki Sawa, and cellist Maximilian Hornung will grace the stage.

여기에 임현재, 신경식 등 차세대 연주자들이 참여해 미래 클래식 음악의 새로운 가능성을 보여줄 예정이다.

Emerging artists such as Lim Hyun-jae and Shin Kyung-sik will also participate, showcasing the future possibilities of classical music.

평창페스티벌오케스트라는 개막·폐막 공연과 오페라 「낙소스섬의 아리아드네」를 포함해 총 3회의 무대를 선보인다.

The PyeongChang Festival Orchestra will present three performances, including the opening and closing concerts and the opera Ariadne auf Naxos.

특히 폐막 이후 고양, 평택, 통영 등 전국 순회공연을 통해 음악제의 예술적 영향력은 전국으로 확장될 예정이다.

Following the closing, a nationwide tour in cities such as Goyang, Pyeongtaek, and Tongyeong will further expand the festival’s artistic influence.

■ 5월 7일 티켓 오픈… 클래식의 여름이 시작된다

콘서트 티켓은 5월 7일 오후 2시부터 공식 홈페이지와 NOL 티켓에서 판매된다. 가격은 3만 원부터 10만 원까지이며, 조기 예매와 도민·학생 할인 등 다양한 혜택이 제공된다.

Concert tickets will go on sale at 2 PM on May 7 via the official website and NOL Ticket. Prices range from 30,000 to 100,000 KRW, with early-bird discounts and special offers for residents and students.
