동해시, 제136주년 세계 노동절 기념행사 개최… 노동존중 가치 확산

동해시는 4월 30일, 한국노총 동해지역지부(의장 박준영) 주관으로 동해시근로자종합복지회관에서 제136주년 세계 노동절 기념행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

올해부터 ‘근로자의 날’이 ‘노동절’로 명칭이 변경된 가운데, 이번 행사는 노동존중 인식 확산과 노사 상생 협력의 중요성을 되새기기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 지역경제와 산업 발전의 주역인 노동자들의 노고를 격려하는 자리로 진행됐다.

행사에는 김정윤 부시장을 비롯한 주요 기관·단체장, 시의원, 노동조합 관계자 및 노동자 등 100여 명이 참석해 노동절의 의미를 되새기고, 노동자들의 헌신과 노력에 감사의 뜻을 전하는 시간을 가졌다.

기념식에서는 산업 발전과 건전한 노사문화 정착에 기여한 모범근로자 표창이 진행됐으며, 노사 간 신뢰와 협력을 다지는 계기가 됐다.

#임성빈 경제과장은 “노동자의 권익 보호와 복지 증진은 지역경제의 지속 가능한 성장과 직결되는 중요한 과제”라며, “앞으로도 노동이 존중받는 사회 분위기 조성과 건강한 노사문화 정착을 위해 다양한 지원과 노력을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Donghae City Hosts 136th International Workers’ Day Ceremony, Promoting Respect for Labor

Donghae City announced that it held a ceremony to commemorate the 136th International Workers’ Day on April 30 at the Donghae Workers’ Welfare Center, organized by the Donghae Regional Branch of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (Chairman Park Jun-young).

With the official renaming of “Workers’ Day” to “Labor Day” starting this year, the event was designed to promote awareness of respect for labor and to reaffirm the importance of cooperation between labor and management. It also served as an opportunity to recognize and encourage workers, who are the driving force behind regional economic and industrial development.

Around 100 participants, including Vice Mayor Kim Jung-yoon, heads of major institutions and organizations, city council members, union officials, and workers, attended the event to reflect on the significance of Labor Day and express appreciation for the dedication and hard work of workers.

During the ceremony, exemplary workers who contributed to industrial development and the establishment of a sound labor-management culture were honored, further strengthening trust and cooperation between labor and management.

#Lim Sung-bin, Head of the Economic Affairs Division, stated, “Protecting workers’ rights and enhancing welfare are crucial tasks directly linked to the sustainable growth of the local economy,” adding, “We will continue to make efforts and provide support to foster a society where labor is respected and to establish a healthy labor-management culture.”
