아이들의 첫 무대는, 교실이 아니라 ‘지역’이었다

강릉의 봄은 아이들의 웃음으로 먼저 피어난다.

이번에는 교실을 벗어나, 마을로 찾아가는 문화예술이 그 시작이다.

Spring in Gangneung begins with children’s laughter.

This time, culture and art step beyond the classroom and into the community.

강릉교육지원청은 4월 14일부터 24일까지 강릉을 중심으로 속초, 양양, 동해, 태백, 삼척, 고성까지 이어지는 강릉권역 전역에서 영유아를 위한 ‘찾아가는 문화예술 교육’을 운영한다.

From April 14 to 24, the Gangneung Office of Education is bringing “visiting cultural arts education” to young children across the Gangneung region—including Sokcho, Yangyang, Donghae, Taebaek, Samcheok, and Goseong.

이 교육은 단순한 체험 프로그램이 아니다.

지역 간 문화 격차를 좁히고, 아이들에게 감정을 느끼고 표현하는 ‘처음의 언어’를 선물하는 시간이다.

This is not just another experiential program.

It is a moment designed to bridge regional cultural gaps and offer children their first language of emotion—feeling and expressing.

프로그램의 중심에는 조선시대 화가 김홍도를 모티브로 한 체험형 공연 ‘홍도의 선물’이 있다.

아이들은 이야기와 몸짓, 색과 소리를 통해 전통문화를 자연스럽게 만나고, 예술을 놀이처럼 받아들인다.

At the heart of the program is an interactive performance, “Hongdo’s Gift,” inspired by the Joseon-era painter Kim Hong-do.

Through stories, movement, colors, and sound, children encounter tradition naturally and embrace art as play.

특히 이번 교육은 농어촌 지역의 유치원과 어린이집을 우선 대상으로 삼았다.

문화가 멀게 느껴졌던 아이들에게, 이제 문화가 먼저 다가간다.

Notably, rural kindergartens and childcare centers are prioritized.

For children who once felt distant from culture, culture now comes to them first.

교육은 속초에서 시작해 고성, 강릉, 양양, 태백, 동해, 삼척으로 이어진다.

하나의 프로그램이지만, 일곱 개의 지역에서 각기 다른 아이들의 감정으로 완성된다.

The program begins in Sokcho and travels through Goseong, Gangneung, Yangyang, Taebaek, Donghae, and Samcheok.

Though it is one program, it is completed by seven regions—each filled with different children’s emotions.

#김기현 교육장은 ‘유보통합’이라는 큰 흐름 속에서 지역 중심 교육의 방향을 강조한다.

아이들의 출발선은 다를 수 있지만, 그 기회만큼은 같아야 한다는 믿음이다.

Superintendent Kim Ki-hyun emphasizes region-centered education within the broader vision of integrated early childhood care and education.

While children may start from different places, the opportunities they receive should be equal.

문화는 멀리 있는 것이 아니라, 아이들의 눈높이에서 시작된다.

그리고 그 첫 장면은, 오늘도 어느 작은 마을에서 조용히 펼쳐지고 있다.

Culture is not something far away—it begins at the eye level of children.

And today, its first scene quietly unfolds in a small village somewhere.
