동해시, 장애인체전 막바지 점검… “참가자 중심의 완벽 준비”

Donghae City Conducts Final Inspection for Para Sports Festival… “Perfect Preparation Centered on Participants”

오는 5월 동해시 일원에서 열리는 제19회 강원특별자치도장애인생활체육대회가 한 달여 앞으로 다가온 가운데, 동해시가 성공적인 대회 개최를 위한 막바지 준비 점검에 나섰다.

As the 19th Gangwon State Para Sports Festival, set to take place across Donghae City this May, approaches in about a month, the city has begun final inspections to ensure a successful event.

동해시는 참가자의 안전과 편의, 경기 운영의 공정성을 최우선 과제로 삼고, 도장애인체육회와 시체육회 등 유관기관과의 협력체계를 강화하며 준비에 총력을 기울이고 있다.

Donghae City is prioritizing participant safety, convenience, and fair game management, while strengthening cooperation with related organizations such as the Provincial Para Sports Association and the City Sports Council.

지난 10일, 동해보양온천컨벤션호텔에서는 도내 18개 시군 대표자와 종목별 경기단체 관계자 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘제2차 시군 대표자 및 경기단체 회의’가 개최됐다.

On April 10, the “2nd Representatives and Sports Federation Meeting” was held at Donghae Boyang Hot Spring Convention Hotel, attended by approximately 100 representatives from 18 cities and counties and officials from various sports associations.

이 자리에서는 참가 선수단 규모와 종목별 참가 현황, 경기 일정 전반에 대한 최종 점검이 이루어졌으며, 개·폐회식 추진 상황과 대진 추첨 결과를 공유하는 등 실질적인 운영 계획이 논의됐다.

During the meeting, final checks were conducted on the scale of participating teams, event-specific participation status, and overall schedules. Practical operational plans were also discussed, including opening and closing ceremony preparations and match draw results.

이번 회의는 실무 중심으로 진행되며 경기장 시설, 교통 편의, 안전 관리, 자원봉사 지원 등 현장 운영과 직결된 사항들을 세밀하게 점검하는 데 중점을 두었다.

The meeting focused on practical aspects, closely reviewing on-site operations such as venue facilities, transportation convenience, safety management, and volunteer support.

#심규언 동해시장은 “남은 기간 동안 모든 세부사항을 철저히 준비해 선수와 관람객 모두가 만족할 수 있는 모범적인 대회를 만들겠다”며 “시민들과 함께하는 따뜻한 체전으로 완성하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Mayor Sim Gyu-eon stated, “We will thoroughly prepare every detail in the remaining time to create an exemplary event that satisfies both athletes and spectators,” adding, “We aim to complete this as a warm and inclusive festival together with our citizens.”

한편, 제19회 강원특별자치도장애인생활체육대회는 5월 18일부터 20일까지 3일간 개최되며, 도내 18개 시군에서 총 2,565명(선수단 및 임원)이 참가하는 역대 최대 규모로 치러질 예정이다.

Meanwhile, the 19th Gangwon State Para Sports Festival will be held for three days from May 18 to 20, with a record-breaking total of 2,565 participants, including athletes and officials, from 18 cities and counties across the province.

주요 경기는 동해웰빙레포츠타운과 웰니스센터, 천곡체육관 등 시 전역에서 펼쳐지며, 동해시는 시설 정비와 함께 교통, 숙박, 의료 등 손님맞이 준비를 마무리해 이번 대회를 시민 화합의 축제로 만든다는 방침이다.

Major events will be held across the city, including Donghae Well-being Leisure Sports Town, the Wellness Center, and Cheongok Gymnasium. The city plans to finalize preparations in transportation, accommodation, and medical services to make this event a festival of unity for all citizens.
