밤마다 빛으로 피어나는 강릉 메타세콰이어길

강릉시는 4월 1일(수)부터 11일(토)까지 경포 생태저류지 메타세콰이어길에서 야간 경관 조명을 시범 운영한다. 운영 시간은 매일 오후 7시부터 자정까지다.

Gangneung City will conduct a pilot operation of nighttime landscape lighting along the Metasequoia Road at Gyeongpo Ecological Detention Basin from April 1 (Wed) to April 11 (Sat). The lights will be on daily from 7 p.m. to midnight.

메타세콰이어 야간 조명 길은 봄철 벚꽃 축제 시즌에 맞춰 강릉을 찾는 상춘객과 시민들에게 색다른 야간 볼거리를 제공하고자 마련됐다.

The Metasequoia night lighting path has been prepared to offer a unique nighttime attraction for spring visitors and citizens during the cherry blossom festival season in Gangneung.

특히 같은 날 첫 운항을 시작하는 오죽헌 전통 뱃놀이 체험 프로그램과 최근 개장한 경포 파크골프장과 연계해, 명품 수변관광지인 경포 생태저류지의 가치를 더욱 높일 것으로 기대된다.

In particular, it is expected to further enhance the value of Gyeongpo Ecological Detention Basin as a premium waterfront tourist destination by linking it with the traditional boat experience program at Ojukheon, which launches on the same day, and the recently opened Gyeongpo Park Golf Course.

시는 약 400m 구간의 메타세콰이어길에 형형색색 점등이 가능한 LED 조명을 설치해, 어둠 속에서 나무에 반사되는 신비롭고 생동감 있는 빛의 파노라마 터널을 선사한다.

The city has installed colorful LED lighting along approximately 400 meters of the Metasequoia Road, creating a dynamic and mystical panoramic tunnel of light reflected on the trees in the darkness.

#엄금문 관광정책과장은 “벚꽃과 함께 시작되는 강릉의 4월이 낮에는 벚꽃으로, 밤에는 메타세콰이어 빛터널로 더욱 풍성해질 수 있도록 시범운영 일정을 맞췄다”라며, “밤에도 잠들지 않는 야간관광도시 강릉을 위해 콘텐츠를 지속적으로 발굴해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

Eom Geum-mun, head of the Tourism Policy Division, stated, “We have scheduled this pilot operation so that April in Gangneung, which begins with cherry blossoms, becomes richer with blossoms during the day and a Metasequoia light tunnel at night,” adding, “We will continue to develop content to establish Gangneung as a vibrant nighttime tourism city that never sleeps.”

시는 이번 시범 운영 기간 동안 방문객 호응도와 운영 여건을 종합적으로 검토한 뒤, 녹음이 짙어지는 5월 1일부터 정상 운영에 들어갈 계획이다.

The city plans to comprehensively review visitor response and operational conditions during the pilot period and begin full-scale operation starting May 1, when the greenery becomes more lush.
