강릉교육지원청 청사 이전, 강릉시와 협력 본격화
Gangneung Office of Education Relocation Gains Momentum with City Partnership

강릉교육지원청(교육장 김기현)은 강릉시(시장 김홍규)와 4월 1일 오후 2시, 강릉시청에서 ‘강릉교육지원청 청사 이전 추진을 위한 상호 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다.

The Gangneung Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Ki-hyun) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gangneung City Government (Mayor Kim Hong-gyu) at 2 p.m. on April 1 at Gangneung City Hall to promote the relocation of its office building.

이번 협약식에는 강원특별자치도교육청 교육감을 비롯해 강릉교육지원청 교육장, 강릉시장이 참석해 청사 이전의 필요성에 공감하고 상호 협력을 약속했다.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Superintendent of the Gangwon State Office of Education, the head of the Gangneung Office of Education, and the Mayor of Gangneung, who all acknowledged the necessity of the relocation and pledged mutual cooperation.

강릉교육지원청은 조직 확대와 교육환경 변화로 행정업무와 근무 인원이 크게 증가했으나, 기존 청사를 그대로 사용함에 따라 사무·회의·민원 처리 공간 부족 문제가 지속되어 왔다. 또한 건물 노후화로 인한 인프라 기능 저하와 안전 문제도 꾸준히 제기되어 왔다.

The Gangneung Office of Education has experienced a significant increase in administrative tasks and staff due to organizational expansion and changes in the educational environment. However, continued use of the existing building has led to ongoing shortages of office, meeting, and civil service spaces. In addition, aging infrastructure has raised persistent concerns regarding functionality and safety.

특히 이번 업무협약은 강릉시의 적극적인 지원이 결정적인 계기가 되었다. 강릉시는 교육 환경 개선이 시민 복지와 직결된다는 인식 아래, 최적의 후보지 검토부터 각종 행정 절차 지원까지 다각적인 협력을 추진할 계획이다.

In particular, the active support of Gangneung City played a decisive role in facilitating this agreement. Recognizing that improvements in the educational environment are directly linked to citizen welfare, the city plans to provide comprehensive support, from reviewing optimal relocation sites to assisting with administrative procedures.

#김기현 교육장은 “이번 협약을 통해 청사 이전 사업이 본격적인 추진 기반을 마련하게 되었다”며 “그동안 지지부진했던 이전 사업이 강릉시라는 든든한 협력 기반을 확보하게 되어 향후 절차 추진에 속도가 붙을 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다.

Superintendent Kim Ki-hyun stated, “This agreement has laid the groundwork for the full-scale 추진 of the relocation project,” adding, “With the strong support of Gangneung City, the previously delayed project is expected to gain significant momentum moving forward.”
