Lee Sang-woong, a preliminary candidate for mayor of Donghae from the Democratic Party of Korea, has officially entered a full campaign phase by appointing actor Lee Ki-young as co-chair of his campaign sponsorship committee.

이기영 배우는 제21대 대통령 선거 당시 ‘문화예술인 123인 이재명 지지 선언’을 주도하고 유세에도 참여한 바 있는 인물이다.

Actor Lee Ki-young previously played a leading role in organizing the “123 Cultural Artists for Lee Jae-myung” declaration and actively participated in campaign rallies during the 21st presidential election.

이 공동회장은 “이상웅 후보는 동해시민을 위한 준비된 일꾼”이라며 “문화예술계 네트워크를 활용해 동해시 관광과 문화 발전에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Lee stated, “Candidate Lee Sang-woong is a well-prepared public servant for the citizens of Donghae,” adding that he would “utilize cultural and artistic networks to contribute to the city’s tourism and cultural development.”

이 후보는 △망상 경제자유구역 활성화 △묵호항 및 묵호항역 조기 이전 △한섬 개발 및 국제학교 유치 △동해항 배후지 확충을 위한 송정동 주거환경 개선 △동해·삼척 통합 추진 등 ‘경제부흥 5대 비전’을 제시했다.

The candidate outlined five major visions for economic revitalization: revitalizing the Mangsang Free Economic Zone, early relocation of Mukho Port and Mukho Station, development of Hanseom and attraction of an international school, residential improvements in Songjeong-dong to support Donghae Port hinterland expansion, and integration of Donghae and Samcheok.

Combining Local Roots with Central Political Experience

묵호고 총동창회장과 동해시 소상공인연합회장을 지낸 이 후보는 현재 묵호고장학회 이사장과 더불어민주당 중앙당 전략기획위원회 부위원장을 맡고 있다.

Lee has served as president of the Mukho High School Alumni Association and head of the Donghae Small Business Federation, and currently holds positions as chairman of the Mukho High Scholarship Foundation and vice chair of the Democratic Party’s central strategic planning committee.

한편, 이상웅 예비후보의 선거사무소 개소식은 오는 3월 29일 오후 2시, 동해시 천곡동 선거사무소에서 열릴 예정이다.

Meanwhile, the campaign office opening ceremony for candidate Lee Sang-woong is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. on March 29 in Cheongok-dong, Donghae.
