영화 「왕과 사는 남자」 흥행 속, 영월 단종 인문학 테마 여행 운영

장릉·청령포 역사 현장과 창작 마당극 결합한 감성형 콘텐츠

강원관광재단(대표이사 최성현)은 오는 4월 4일(토), 4월 5일(일), 4월 11일(토)부터 4월 12일(일)까지 ‘강원 인문학 테마 여행’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 최근 흥행한 영화 「왕과 사는 남자」의 영향으로 관심이 높아진 영월과 단종을 주제로 기획됐다. 영화의 여운을 실제 역사 현장에서 이어갈 수 있도록 구성된 점이 특징이다.

본 프로그램은 회차별 최대 100명 규모로 운영되며, 참가자의 선택 폭을 고려해 당일형(영월)과 1박 2일형(영월·정선)으로 나뉘어 진행된다.

당일형 코스는 △장릉 △청령포 △선돌 △서부시장 등을 방문하며, 1박 2일형 코스에는 △관풍헌 △아리랑박물관 △아라리촌 일정이 추가돼 보다 깊이 있는 인문학 여행을 제공한다.

특히 현장에서는 판소리 해설과 배우의 연기가 결합된 창작 마당극이 펼쳐진다. 영화로 익숙해진 단종의 이야기를 생생하게 재현하는 공연으로, 관람객들에게 감성적 몰입을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.

이번 공연에는 JTBC 「풍류대장」 TOP3 출신 가수 서진실이 소리꾼으로 참여해 완성도를 한층 끌어올린다.

#최성현 강원관광재단 대표이사는 “영화 흥행 이후 영월을 찾는 방문객이 늘어나고 있다”며 “이번 인문학 테마 여행이 단종의 삶과 역사적 의미를 되새기고 지역 문화유산을 깊이 이해하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

한편, 강원관광재단은 2024년부터 「관동별곡」, 「김유정 문학」 등 다양한 인문학 콘텐츠를 관광과 연계한 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영해 오고 있다.

Yeongwol Humanities Travel Program Launched Amid Film “The King and the Man” Boom

Blending Royal Tombs, Historic Sites, and Live Korean Theater

The Gangwon Tourism Organization (CEO Choi Sung-hyun) announced that it will operate the “Gangwon Humanities Theme Tour” on April 4–5 and April 11–12.

The program is inspired by the recent box-office success of the film “The King and the Man,” which has sparked renewed public interest in Yeongwol and the tragic story of King Danjong. The tour is designed to extend the emotional resonance of the film into real historical settings.

Each session will accommodate up to 100 participants, with options including a one-day course (Yeongwol) and a two-day, one-night course (Yeongwol and Jeongseon).

The one-day itinerary includes visits to Jangneung Royal Tomb, Cheongnyeongpo, Seondol Cliff, and Seobu Market. The extended course adds Gwanpungheon Pavilion, Arirang Museum, and Arari Village, offering a deeper and more immersive cultural experience.

A highlight of the program is a live creative madanggeuk (traditional Korean outdoor theater), combining pansori narration with dramatic performance. The show brings King Danjong’s story vividly to life, enhancing emotional engagement for visitors.

Notably, Seo Jin-sil, a TOP3 finalist from JTBC’s “Pungnyu Daejang,” will participate as the lead sorigun (pansori singer), elevating the artistic quality of the performance.

CEO Choi Sung-hyun stated, “We are grateful to see a growing number of visitors to Yeongwol following the film’s success. We hope this humanities tour will provide meaningful opportunities to reflect on King Danjong’s life and gain a deeper understanding of our cultural heritage.”

Since 2024, the organization has continued to develop humanities-based tourism programs linked to regional culture, including themes such as “Gwandong Byeolgok” and “Kim You-jeong Literature.”
