동해보건소 ‘칫솔 바꿔준 DAY’ 성황… 900명 참여, 3개월 주기 구강관리 확산

동해보건소, ‘칫솔 바꿔준 DAY’ 성황… 900여 명 참여

동해시보건소는 시민의 올바른 구강관리 습관 형성을 위해 지난 3월 17일 운영한 ‘칫솔 바꿔준 DAY’ 행사를 성황리에 마무리했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사에서는 동해시민을 대상으로 사용하던 헌 칫솔을 새 칫솔로 교환해주는 프로그램이 진행됐으며, 1인 1개 교환을 원칙으로 가족 대리 교환도 등본 지참 시 가능하도록 운영됐다.

행사 당일에는 약 900여 명의 시민이 참여해 큰 호응을 얻었으며, 칫솔 교환과 함께 올바른 칫솔질 방법과 구강건강관리 교육도 병행해 실질적인 건강관리 효과를 높였다.

특히, 해당 사업은 시민들의 꾸준한 관심 속에 지난해 총 2,258명이 참여하는 등 대표적인 생활밀착형 건강 프로그램으로 자리잡고 있다.

동해보건소는 이번 성과를 바탕으로 오는 6월, 9월, 12월에도 ‘칫솔 바꾸는 날’을 정기적으로 운영해 시민들의 3개월 주기 칫솔 교체 습관 형성을 적극 지원할 계획이다.

#홍종란 보건정책과장은 “칫솔은 일정 기간 사용 시 위생 효과가 떨어지는 만큼 정기적인 교체가 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 시민들의 구강건강 증진을 위한 다양한 사업을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Donghae Public Health Center announced the successful completion of its “Toothbrush Exchange Day” held on March 17, aimed at promoting proper oral hygiene habits among citizens.

The program allowed residents of Donghae to exchange their used toothbrushes for new ones. Each participant was limited to one toothbrush, while family members were permitted to exchange on behalf of others upon presenting a family registration document.

Approximately 900 citizens participated in the event, demonstrating strong public interest. In addition to the exchange, the program included education on proper brushing techniques and oral health care, enhancing its practical impact.

The initiative has continued to gain popularity, with a total of 2,258 participants recorded last year, establishing itself as a representative community-based health program.

Building on this success, the health center plans to hold the event regularly in June, September, and December to encourage citizens to adopt a three-month toothbrush replacement routine.

Hong Jong-ran, head of the Health Policy Division, stated, “Since the effectiveness of a toothbrush decreases over time, regular replacement is essential. We will continue to implement various programs to improve citizens’ oral health.”
