강릉시, 해양·동계 스포츠 체험 「지역자율형 생활체육활동」 프로그램 운영 시민 체험 확대… 요트·서핑부터 컬링까지

강릉시는 시민들이 해양과 동계 스포츠를 일상 속에서 쉽게 즐길 수 있도록 ‘지역자율형 생활체육활동 지원사업’ 프로그램을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

The city of Gangneung announced that it will operate the “Local Autonomous Sports Activity Support Program” to help citizens enjoy marine and winter sports more easily in their daily lives.

이번 사업은 문화체육관광부 공모사업에 선정된 3개년 사업(2025~2027)으로, 강릉의 지역 특성을 반영한 해양 스포츠와 동계 스포츠 체험 프로그램을 통해 시민들의 생활체육 참여를 확대하고 스포츠 도시 강릉의 경쟁력을 강화하기 위해 추진된다.

This initiative is a three-year project (2025–2027) selected through a national public contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The program aims to expand public participation in everyday sports by offering marine and winter sports experiences that reflect Gangneung’s regional characteristics while strengthening the city’s competitiveness as a sports city.

프로그램은 강릉 사천요트장과 강릉컬링센터 일원에서 3월부터 12월까지 운영되며, 시민과 관광객을 대상으로 다양한 체험 및 교육 프로그램이 진행된다.

The program will run from March to December at Sacheon Yacht Marina and the Gangneung Curling Center, offering a variety of hands-on experiences and training sessions for both residents and visitors.

해양 스포츠 분야에서는 ‘해양 스포츠 팜(F.A.M.E)’ 프로그램을 통해 요트·서핑 원데이 클래스, 여성 대상 요트 동호인 육성 프로그램 ‘세일포골드(Sail for Gold)’, 유·청소년 대상 ‘유스 마린 아카데미(Youth Marine Academy)’ 등이 운영된다.

In the marine sports category, the “Marine Sports F.A.M.E Program” will provide one-day yacht and surfing classes, a women’s yacht club development program called “Sail for Gold,” and the “Youth Marine Academy” for children and teenagers.

동계 스포츠 분야에서는 ‘컬링 웨이브 인 강릉(Curling W.IN)’ 프로그램을 통해 학생 컬링 체험교실, 시민 컬링 강습, 컬링 동호인 리그 등을 운영하여 시민들이 동계 스포츠를 체험하고 지속적으로 참여할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.

In the winter sports category, the “Curling W.IN (Wave in Gangneung)” Program will offer student curling experience classes, citizen curling lessons, and amateur curling leagues, providing opportunities for people to experience and continuously participate in winter sports.

“강릉은 바다와 동계올림픽 유산을 함께 갖춘 도시로, 해양 스포츠와 동계 스포츠를 시민들이 사계절 내내 즐길 수 있는 환경을 갖추고 있다”며

“앞으로도 다양한 생활체육 프로그램을 통해 시민들이 일상 속에서 스포츠를 즐길 수 있는 도시로 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Choi Sang-bo, head of the Sports Division of Gangneung City, said,

“Gangneung is a city that possesses both the sea and the legacy of the Winter Olympics, providing an environment where citizens can enjoy marine and winter sports throughout all four seasons.

We will continue to expand diverse community sports programs so that people can enjoy sports as part of their daily lives.”
